Hemsky (europe)
Cross, since getting a puck in the face (AB)
Dvorak (europe)

those are the only ones, I think.

Ales Hemsky CZE
Igor Ulanov RUS(I believe I've seen him go either way at different times)

Doesn't wear visor:
Ryan Smyth Alta,CAN
Alexei Semenov RUS
Mike York USA
Brad Isbister Alta,CAN
Marty Reasoner USA
Jarret Stoll Alta,CAN
Jason Smith Alta,CAN
Steve Staios Ont,CAN
George Laraque Que,CAN (he's a fighter so he can actually wear a visor anyway)
Cory Cross Alta,CAN (currently wearing visor to protect broken nose but normally does not wear one)
Adam Oates Ont,CAN
Jason Chimera Alta,CAN
Fernando Pisani Alta,CAN
Mike Bishai Alta,CAN
Shawn Horcoff BC,CAN

I'm assuming this is spurred by the Cherry comments? As you can see virtually no one on our team wears visors

Your list is right Faceless, except:

I don't think Ulanov has worn a visor since he rejoined the Oil.

#1 reason oilers will never accomplish anything in the NHL. Everyone is basically from Western Canada and we have 4 euros in the lineup 2 being forward. you look at the other teams and they have a good portion of their team being european. the oilers organization has to get over their ego of believing that Alberta boys are the way to win because its never going to happen.

If rita was from edmonton, he would have been in the lineup two years ago. Having all these local people in there team imo is sickening because they get first priority. Till we have more europeans in the lineup and have skilled players and none of these pluggers we arent going to win. I dont want to make the playoffs so a change will happen with the team because this team has gotten rid of some really good talent for a local player. All the Albertans have no skill they are all pluggers. THe only real skilled albertan was Comrie and we got rid of him.

Look at van, ott, tor, they have tons of europeans and all of htem are all skilled and look how good there team is. I know thats not the main point, but if actually had a couple of european forwards, like Rita, salamenin* in the lineup this team would be better because we actually have skill.

Don't you think they've moved away from that a bit? Currently in the system there are only 2 Oiler prospects playing in the WHL (Brodziak and Bodie) and there are only Lynch and Woywitka playing in Toronto that most people consider serious NHL contenders. (There is also Mike Bishai, Dan Baum, Glenn Fisher, Chad Hinz and JJ Hunter all from the 4 western provinces but...)

There are nearly as many Swedes than there are CHL prospects (not including AHL) at the moment and that's only 1 Euro country.

Obviously the local content was something that the Oilers looked for and got but now that they do, I think they're looking elsewhere more too.

a lot of our canadians are 3rd / 4th liners and bottom 4/5 dmen. They don't cost a lot of money. Euros who are similarily skilled play in europe for the same money.

look at our last 5 first round picks rita, mikhnov, hemsky, niimaki and pouliout are not from western canada so it looks like the Oilers are leaning towards that direction. Also from their second round picks over the last 5 years: Semenov, Salmelainen, Winchester, Lynch, Caron, Deslarius, Stoll, Greene, McDonald, Jacques.

For me thats Lynch, Stoll and McDonald from Western Canada, so over the last 5 years thats three from western canada from a total of 15. Not very high

Cherry used to love the Oilers a few years ago because they were the only team in the league with every single player going without a shield. Still looks like the Oilers are pretty low in that department with only two of them using a shield on a regular basis.

We all know Cherry's opinion on it, but my opinion on visors are that they're perfectly fine unless you're a fighter. You only get two eyes so I think it's smart for players to protect them. What would've happened to Hossa had he not been wearing that shield on Thursday?

I would be interested to know how many in LA wear them. I always remember over the years seeing alot of visors on that bench. One year almost everyone wore one.

I know personel changes happen constantly (especially with the Kings M.A.S.H. unit).........but would be curious to know how many do wear visors today.
