Agreed. That's why the Avs picked up Smyth in the off season. All year long we heard how he was overpaid, but he's showing his worth now.

The irony is that the Avs were the complete opposite all year. Teams would just collapse down low.

The Wild ran into some injuries, Hart/Vezina style goaltending from Theo, and a pretty darn good shutdown pair in Foote and Sauer.

Unlike, say, Ottawa, the Wild don't need to "blow it up". This was a really close series where mistakes were costly and the goaltending rock solid on both ends.

Stay classy, Minnesota. We'll see you next season!
Well said and I couldn't agree more.Good luck the rest of the way.

Outside of the abherration that was Game 4. . . a tough, exciting, tightly-contested nail-biter of a series that really could have gone either way. And a series that, without a doubt, produced some of the best competitive hockey of the playoffs so far.

Congratulation to the Wild on their season, and first regular season division championship. Brent Burns is a stalwart on the blueline and a tough SOB to play against. . . can only imagine when he has a few years under his belt playing the position. And best of wishes to Kurtis Foster recovering from that brutal injury. . . one of my favorite non-Avs with that nasty booming shot from the point, a shot definitely missed on the PP this series.
