No credibility at all.

We have 9 players with 100 and more hits :
  • Komisarek - 266
  • Bouillon - 168
  • Hamrlik - 138
  • Latendresse - 134
  • Kostopoulos - 128
  • Ryder - 122
  • Bégin - 119
  • Kostitsyn - 102
  • Lapierre - 101
  • Kovalev - 88
  • Gorges - 76
  • Higgins - 76
  • O'Byrne - 65 (33 games played only)

Bruins.... have 4
  • Chara - 223
  • Lucic - 181
  • Ward - 141
  • Stuart - 101
  • Kobasew - 86
  • Ference - 79
  • Thorton - 67 (I wonder if they get him because they are missing big Joe?)

We are maybe a soft team compare to Calgary or Anaheim but surely not to Boston.

I don't know what Montreal's record is against Boston over the past 30 games, but the 23 out of 30 reference is the number of PLAYOFF SERIES Montreal has historically won.

That's total historic domination.

The cocky Bruins fans just don't know their history, and don't know their seasons. After the vernal equinox comes mating season and at that time of year the Bears of Boston are usually on the Habs receiving end if you know what I mean.

A few things I wanna cover.

1) The softness issue. I think the Bruins' fans are just preparing themselves for their moral victory. Let's not deprive them of this.

2) The lack of secondary scoring. The idiot that wrote that forgot Montreal scored the most goals in the league. So if Montreal doesn't have secondary scoring, all the other teams don't even have primary scoring. We won't even get into the over 50 point getters that might just confuse the writer of the CBC report.

3) The 5 on 5 scoring. Those totals are for the whole year. I'd like someone to post the figures for the second half. I'll bet Montreal is one of the top teams in the second half. I can remember the Habs being in the negative the first half of the season.

This team was being built as the season went on: ex Sergei Kostitsyn, Price, O'Byrne, Lapierre and it started to come together in the second half of the season. I'm sure the Habs are going into the playoffs as one of the top three teams in the league.

Guys, there is no need to worry about what other internet fans think of the habs. They aren't the ones playing the games. Try instead to picture the minds of the actual Bruins players... I am pretty sure they are not looking forward to an easy wipe out of the habs because they are soft...

Kovalev will own everything anyway...

I'm really starting to question boston fans manlyness. After all we all remember Cam Nelly in dumb and dumber. Really seems like they havesome sort of complexe. Guess going 0-11 will do that to you.

Since when are the Bruins tough? Savard is one of the softest, most gutless players I've seen. He's the reincarnation of Craig Janney.

I agree with Bruins Fans. We are a soft team and a small team. Detroit Red Wings are the softiest team of the league and the best team too. 70's Habs are softer than 70's Philly, but they still own them because of character. They can try to hit Habs, but they can't stop them to skate.

Well they hit on the forecheck, their D loses positioning for hits and when they get scored on they crosscheck someone. Pretty though!

This is very interesting...most fans who haven't watched the Habs would be shocked to see this...on another note, does anyknow how many 5 on 5 goals we scored this year?

Exactly; i was going to say that.

"The Canadiens are 23-7 in playoff series all-time against Boston, including 18 series in a row between 1946 and 1987. Since then, the Bruins hold a 5-3 edge, but Montreal won the last two in 2002 and 2004."

Boston has like.. three good forwards.

A tough, 3rd line rookie (Lucic) .. a good second liner (Sturm) and one of the best 1st line centres in hockey (Savard).. after that it's pretty bleak.

According to nhl.com we have 148 goals in five-on-five situations, 8 shorthanded goals and 89 on powerplay , but it's apparently not up to date. The Bruins have 128 goals in 5-on-5, and 55 in powerplay, must not be up to date either.

90 PPG - 257 total goals scored *before the shootout goals*

167 goals

167/257= 0.6498 ---> 65% of our goals come from 5/5 play.

Now for fun, Boston

73% of their goals come even strength. That looks bad I know.
Consider this, 206 goals scored, 56 PPGs . We technically barely scored 10 more goals than them at Even strength.

Our power play has to be clicking at the same pace as it was during the regular season if we want to have the same kind of success.

edit: i guess it wasn't up to date by 1 game.

5-on-5 goals:

1. OTT 164
2. COL 162
3. BUF 162
4. CAR 159
5. NSH 152
6. TOR 152
7. WSH 149
8. DET 149
9. MTL 148
...............
23. BOS 128

and I'm sure we would be even higher than that if our power play wasn't so proficient (for example when we build leads from our pp, we don't necessarily attack as hard (we're #1 in 5-on-4 goals btw))

Guys.. I kinda feel bad for the bruins.. I mean.. obviously they know we're not soft but.. realistically.. what else can they possibly say about us..? Nothing at all.. we're obviously the better team, better fowards, better D, better coach, better assistant coach, better GM, better arena with better and louder more passionate fans, I mean.. OK.. there's not much for them to bust our balls about.. and if they seriously think we're soft, and they REALLY think that is true.. they are functionally retarded.

The official excuse for this stats is that the Bell Center statisticians gives more hit than in the other arena. You guys should know that.

Yeah and it's not even a joke, they realy believe that (the Bruins fans)... They seem to have lost contact with reality, they're making up stories and they'll stick to it no matter if reality proove them wrong, it's sad... at least they have a life outside being Bruins fans, wich should fulfill them as human being.
