What do you mean ? I like when they do this, you get a different persepctive of a team, and if the guy's good, and in this case he is, you learn a bit.

He's a frequent poster on the B's board btw. He covers the team, I don't know what you mean by excuses, I don't expect the Mtl beat guys to write like fans, do you ?

See Ice, I *did* live there, 1999-2003. And though I miss seeing the Habs terribly, it's really all there is to miss. That and hella good poutine, Cheval Blanc beer and really smokin' hot strippers. And bringing my own wine to dinner. And getting drunk with 8,000 off-kilter BoSox fans at the Big Owe. And seeing people walk their dogs in the supermarket, that was funny. And meeting people who thought speaking French was perfectly normal. And a decent Metro system. And NO Toronto fans. And.....hey wait....

why the **** did I move again ??

I think you assumed snark where there was none. I think he actually meant he likes it

This article, and pretty much everything else about the Habs, goes up at "habsinsideout.com". I used to live and die by reading the Gazette website (living out of Montreal), then had to deal with the Gazette paid membership option. Maybe a year or a bit ago, they started up habsinsideout.com and it has been amazing - if I can't watch the game, I'll try to follow Boone's game blog on my blackberry.

Everyone who likes the Habs should seriously visit this every day or two, thumbs up to Stubbs or any of the writers who may be reading this. There's no better way to be an out-of-town Habs fan.

I couldn't figure what was meant, why would a columnist make excuses ? We fans usually do that.

Thanks skule123. I forgot about habsinsideout.

Also in the list of things to miss...... the super awesome fireworks competitions, and St. Patrick's Day. Ah Saint Pat's in MTL.... When I describe the beer, puke, facedown kidz & pint glass carnage that litters the streets to my friends here, they listen awestruck as if I'd sailed off the map and returned with tales from the land of "There Be Dragons...."

I wish we would replace Bertrand Raymond permanently with journalists from the opposite teams.

There are a variety of resources that one can use to be able to read the sports section of newspapers that are published in other NHL cities. Or for that matter, AHL and other minor league cities.

For Montréal [Hockey Heaven] and in English - http://www.canada.com/montrealgazett...rts/index.html

For other cities in the world...

http://newslink.org/

http://www.newsdirectory.com/

Use the above two links to find the URL if your are fluent in Français in order to read;

Le Journal de Montréal
La Presse

Here is a listing...

http://www.newspapersol.com/newspapers/quebec.html

Enjoy!!
