That's terrible. I hope his surgery goes well and comes back 100% next season. I wonder if these will be the first Avalanche games he's missed that he was scheduled to broadcast?
It's going to be weird to listen to Kelly and McNab together again. And I'm sure there will be quite a few threads on the main board if Kelly uses his trademark, "Thank You, Thank You, Thank You" call after an Avalanche goal.
It makes perfect sense. John Kelly is the logical choice.
I was sitting at the table next to Mike Haynes at Brooklyn's on Sunday afternoon when he was doing Avalanche Talk with Norm Jones after the game; and I specifically remember thinking about how healthy Haynes looked. He looked fit, youthful, and a little bit like a younger Kevin Spacey. Very bizarre.
The Fan just reported that Mike's surgery was "successful" today. No other details. That's obviously good to hear, though.
My prayers will continue to be with Mike and his immediate family. Although, I did also pray for Peter McNabb last night. You could tell he was choked up as well and was having a tough time coming to grips with this while still trying to put on the brave face and call the game for us.
Really, really happy to see someone is reporting the surgery was "successful." Good to hear!
on other surgically related news my grandma had here pace maker changed out successfully today. It amazes me how far technology has come along. She walked into the house three hours after the surgery and was told to walk around frequently through this evening.
to go further on the technical advancements made. I had my hip reconstructed when I was thirteen. The procedure wasn't around three years before I had as the technology wasn't around to do it. I was the first patient to have the procedure that was over 10 years old.
the point in this is Haynes is in good hands with the technology today. I am sure he'll make a speed recovery and all will be fine with him.
