Do you think Hjalmarsson can earn a regular place in the lineup this year?

He'll have to fight tooth and nail for it. He's probably best served getting #1 minutes on the Rock this year, however.

I thought he played well on day 1 of camp showed good patience in setting up a tic tac toe passing play resulting in a tap in(2nd assist but very good hockey sense displayed on the play). But then he was level on a good open ice hit by Hjarlmalsson and got up to chase him down on the other end, play had to be stopped (no fisticuffs though)

In case it wasn't noted before Byfuglien has switched to #33. His logic in doing so was that #52 wasn't a very good forward number and he had worn #33 before.

Thas pretty funny, thanks for the read. I didnt know Hjalmarsson was like that; an open ice'er. I guess Aliu needs to control his temper when he runs into something he doesnt like (or someone runs into him). Looking forward to seeing him progress.

Does anyone know if any website's gamecenters are showing this?

ESPN/Sportsline/NHL.com aren't

Looks like RADIO is the only route to observe this game unless you go down to the arena. I've been scouring the web looking for a video feed but to no avail

Good luck

Hawks win 4-3

Pelletier from Keith & Barker
Versteeg from Brophey & Barker
Sharp from Kane and Makarov
Brouwer from Fraser

I hope I'll never have to hear those announcers again. Holy ****.

I listened to it on the radio last year. Those guys are one reason I actually went to the game today.

Kaner should have had 4 or 5 assists, he was just gift-wrapping them all night.

Makarov made some bone-headed moves, he's going to have to improve.

Kontiola showed some flashes but he looked like he was playing catch-up all night. He's really going to have to improve.

Holy crap, is this team fast or what?

From the sounds of it, it was a fun game to watch. For any of you Chicago guys that made it to the game, any impressions of the CBJ's top prospects?

Here's to a good series this year.

From FMJ:
Voracek is good (but he's still weak on his skates), Brassard is okay. Columbus is going to play ugly, and hope to win on the PP.

Moving Kane to center could be the solution to all of our current problems. You just hope it doesn't add a whole bunch of new problems.

At this point in the game, it's definitely something worth considering. Plan A, with Kontiola at center, looks like a complete flop. Kane moving to center seems like a better plan B than moving Sharp back to center.

Bolland is always an option but I really like the idea of him anchoring the third line; if he doesn't, who does? Burish? Pelletier?

That's a ******** number, total tickets sold / distributed probably. There were maybe 13,000 - 14,000 bodies in the seats.

Well, given our success in the past, sounds like a plan.
