Interesting Point

Scott Taylor of the Winnipeg Free Press was talking with TheScore anchor Sid Seixeiro about Canada's World Cup roster.

Taylor said that if healthy he thought that 5 forwards were locks to make Team Canada.

They were..in the order he said, Lemeiux, Thornton, Bertuzzi, Iginla and Gagne.

Just thought it was interesting Simon was still included despite recent offensive struggles.

Lemieux isn't going to play.

No source, no publications, just the obvious.

I'm sure Gagne will receive serious considerations, but I highly doubt Team Canada's GM thinks he's a lock to make the team. Especially when they have to have something like 3 players that are 20 or under, so who knows if they would want another young player who has been struggling.

I'd say it's based on his play in the Olympics. With his speed his game is perfect for the International rink. Especially minus Hitchcock's system.

The World Cup is played on NHL sized rinks, not Olympic sized.

I for one would love to see Gags play for Canada, I think it's just the thing to elevate his game. he is a terrific two-way player that is a legit offensive threat. as said above, with the skill/skating type of game, it fits him like a glove.

yeah, playing for team Canada would be perfect for him,if I recall,a few games after Olympic(I don't think I spelled it right) break,at the game against the Rangers,he got his 1st career hat trick, and he scored more. It looks like this is all that he needs to start scoring.
