That was some awful reffing at the end of the Devils game, what a joke.

What a total ****fest in the final minute in NJ. Total bush league reffing with about 5 blatant penalties missed. Sutter was ready to just break that stick on the boards, lol.

I don't know if these two refs will see another playoff game this season but let's assume they will because it's the NHL right?

Pens and Rags up 2-0 in their respective series, Habs half to follow suit.

After watching the end of the Devils and Rangers game I really hope that the Jackson and Rooney tandem have nothing to do with any Habs' game.

So do the refs call more penalties or let them play on?

I picked the Avs in this one and I suppose we'll hear a ton of praise for Theodore. But he has always been good in 1st rounds. He had a few mediocre efforts vs. Boston in 02 and 04 but overall got the job done, just like he did for Colorado in 06. It's the second round where he sucks as he got smoked at the end by Carolina, coughed up tons of cheapies in games 3-4 vs. Tampa and was made Joffrey Lupul's personal slave in the Anaheim-Colorado CSF of 2006.

So his magic lasts only 1 round usually. But there's no secret to his improved play for me. The guy is playing for a contract. At year's start, he was looking like a guy who'd get 1-2M if at all, and a backup job. Now, he's fooled everyone into thinking he's worth 4-5M or something. If I'm Colorado, I let him walk and sign Huet! Upgrade like the Habs did! Check out Theo:

99-00: Emerges as an excellent goalie after up-n-down performances since making the big club in 97. Gets nice 2-year deal. Sucks in 00-01 though.
01-02: Plays Vezina and MVP hockey in net, gets rewarded with big 2-year deal. Proceeds to suck in 02-03.
03-04: Returns somewhat to form, gets new 3-year deal (or was it a 4-year deal with one yr wiped out by lockout?). Goes belly up in 05-06 and 06-07.
07-08: Finds his game again, looks to be headed for a decent pay day.
08-09: ???

Yeah that was horrible, weak call against New Jersey then they missed at least three calls on New York in the last minute.

Know I'm late but just wanted to say that Philly is still looking for a goalie....Aebischer would have been better than Biron at this point....

Washington has all the tools to be this year's Edmonton....unless they get out of that series real injured....

And while I was talking about Burns 2 days ago, it was Mike Green's show tonight! Should I mentioned that he was my choice in 2004....

Huet will need to much better despite some key saves in the 3rd.

I don't buy this. From everybody, it never was about a lack of effort. It was all mental. So, even if it is a contract year, you can't turn on and off your game because of it. I don't think he can be a top 5 goalie in this league, but he has the capacity of being much better than Biron and Gerber to say the least....

He does, but I just find it weird that every one of his best seasons have come in contract years. So perhaps the pressure of playing for something big in terms of cash or keeping a job is what gets Theo going. His agent must be a damn good motivator, so why can't his agent (I think it's Don Meehan) get him doing this all the time? If he keeps up the good play in 08-09, the mental aspect would make sense but if he sucks all over again, my theory starts to look mighty truthful.
