Someone needs to tell Gary Thorne that Ryan Malone and Eric Staal are two different players.

Good performance by Malone....had some good chances and one goal, though I thought he was gonna get another right at the end, but Bergeron shot it....Orpik wasn't too noticeable, but was anyone honestly expecting much? I'd rather not see any of these guys injured in a game with this atmosphere....

Orpik and Ruutu were out of their elements in the game, they couldn't play their game and were essentially useless.

Malone was one of the better players out there and got a goal to show for it

Yeah, Its a ****ing shame though that Koltsov wasn't there. I would've taken him over both Malone and Orpik tonight.

yeah, imagine what Koltsov could do with that much open space. Orpik looked like he wasn't trying on defence, or didn't know what to do. It looked like he wanted to play defence, but he wasn't allowed.

Poor Brooks. He knew ahead of time it wasn't going to be much fun, based on his comments to Clement before the game. Then he had the accidental deflection go in his own net. Ah well; just a meaningless exhibition, especially for defensmen.

Malone had a nice goal and some nice chances in the last period as well. I just wish Thorne could tell the difference between a Carolina uni and a Pens uni. He kept referring to Staal (I think) as "Malone". Seriously, it's been beaten to death but I cannot think of another sports announcer who calls out so many wrong names / pronunciations. It's a shame too because he has a great hockey voice.

yeah, orpik and Ruutu really couldnt play their game at all. plus, i think all the d-men had trouble as they had no partner to play with.

i too would have loved to see koltsov play in it.his speed alon would have made it much more interesting.

I sort of felt bad for Orpik. His whole game is about being physical, so he pretty much just stood in the defensive zone in front of the goalie, trying to poke at the puck.

you said it....Orpik was out of his element...best player was easily pitkanen, but i guess it doesn't matter...Orpik looked like ****, but there was no hitting, so what'd ya expect. Pitkanen was easily the best player on the ice

This was getting on my nerves very badly. I hate Gary Thorne, he does that often with players, calls them by the wrong names just because they wear the same numbers.

Yeah, I don't think he'd let up at all, even for the youngstars game.

Anyone else notice that after Orpik deflected one in his own net he basically quit playing defense and started standing around the top of the circles for the rest of the game?

How about Bergeron's two minute shifts? Seemed like him and Zherdev never wanted to come off the ice. And PB should have passed that to Ryan Malone at the end but instead took a bad angle shot, which I figured he would do.
Although I must say, I found it hillarious that Bergeron was the lone man back on Defense for like three 2 on 1's.
