OT: Marian Hossa

Is it just me, or does Hossa not look slower than in past years? I guess it could be his injury is not really 100% healed, but I could swear Marian looks a bit out of shape, bloated?

Am I dreaming? The guy didn't even score 30 this year. Fluke or out of shape?

He looked like crap last night... Good thing Gainey didn't trade Higgins for him.

I was think the same thing the other night. They were panning across the Penguins bench and everyone had such jutted jaw lines, at this point in the season most players have lost some weight since the start, and then comes Marian Hossa and he just looked Chubby. But he has always been a bit of a bigger player, similar to Jagr.

Doesn't look like he has the drive.Looks like he's playing game 10 of the regular season...

If he has no drive, he doesn't belong in Montreal as far as i'm concerned.

Kovalev with Drive > Hossa.

Hossa cant control the pace of the game. If he has the puck he has to enter the zone and charge the net....he cant do like Kovalev and slow the play down along the boards and let the play install it's self in to the opposing zone.

Hossa didnt look good either games so far in the series. I thought he would step it up this year which is why i wanted him in montreal...

Guess some things never change. Having said that see this statement bite us back if montreal plays Pittsburgh in these playoffs

I think he's intimidated by Crosby and Jagr 2.0.

But yes I think there is some lagging injury there or something because as he has yet to turn on those jets that we KNOW he has. He didn't skate around the Philly zone twice urging them to, "come get me!" in that game in 2003 on a fluke.

Hossa has definitely looked out of sorts in his first two playoff games.

Getting in Sid's way, not protecting the puck well, no finish whatsoever, lifting harmless floaters into Gerber's chest as soon as he gains the blueline...if he keeps playing like he has been, I'll have no problem with Shero parting ways with him for nothing in the off-season.

It's because he plays with Crosby who is lightning quick.

I haven't seen much of J Staal but he looked very slow and ackward to me , Other than size I don't see all the hype about him.

Malkin is a beast tho...PITT can afford to lose Crosby but I think they would tank if they lost Malkin for any amount of time. To me he is way better than Crosby. I would trade Crosby before I ever traded Malkin if I was PITT gm !!!!

Do you mean that he is slow? This is the playoff and he does not look interested playing the game at all. I am now against signing Hossa as UFA.

Well, he is coming off an injury, but yeah he does look sluggish and disinterested. I think he just hasn't found a way to fit within his line.

J Staal wouldnt of gone #2 if his last name wasn't Staal.

Malkin seems to be emerging as the better hockey player, but Crosby is worth mega-bucks for the franchise with all the league-wide promotion he gets so if the choice came up, Malkin would be traded before Crosby.

Made me want to puke to hear Hab fans get so bothered and upset and disturbed and disgusted that Gainey didn't want to trade 4 players for a Hossa rental at the deadine.

So far the guy has never made a playoff impact

True, he will most likely score an important goal or two these playoffs, but so might any player taking a nice feed from Crosby.

Thank God we have a GM that doesn't listen to ranting fan opinions on media shows
