New chant for the Bell Centre???

Hey guys!

Playoff fever baby! Our boys are looking pretty good at the starting gate.

I've been reading/hearing a lot of folks complaining about "Olay, Olay". I can't say I'm a huge fan of that chant either. So I wrote/recorded an anthemic, VERY traditional sounding chant for the Bell Centre. It's pretty simple and sounds Montrealish if that makes any sense.

I think it'd sound cool with 21,000+ fans singing it? Words on the screen type of thing? I dunno. Thought i'd share it with my buddies here.

If you'd like to hear it, just click on the link below:

Les Canadiens, Le Tricolore, Nos Glorieux

http://soundclick.com/share?songid=6452184

Have a great weekend and enjoy the game!

Cheers,

d.

I just say we ALL start singing "Don't Stop Beleiving"

Imagine 21 000 + singing

Quote:
Working hard to get my fill,
Everybody wants a thrill
Payin anything to roll the dice,
Just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on

Dont stop believin
Hold on to the feelin
Streetlight peopl

Yeah. I haven't had the chance to call in, but I've met him once. Very nice guy. My only negative is that he lets his amazing enthusiasm get in the way of sanity!

That's not such a bad thing. Sanity is over-rated! lol!

What do you think of the chant idea?

Loco Locas made a song for the Habs. Their goal was that this song will become the song people will sing in the Bell Center. It's a song similar to what we can ear in Europe for the soccer.

They haven't finish the mix but they gave a 30 seconds demo to J-C in CKAC. I don't like Loco Locas but this song is awesome. I'm singning it since yesterday and it pump me.

Allez Montréal was the title. I think we can listen to the demo today on CKAC because during the weekend they pass some of the week's best moments.

It's a little slow for my tastes but 21273 people singing this at once would be awesome. Sounds like a soccer chant for sure.

i was thinking of something like the chant of the aviron bayonnais in the french rugby championship. sounds like a real song to support a war-like game. would be really intimidating singed by 21 000 angry fans

Or people can stomp their feet/bang their chairs. They can get the MSO to do it! lol! The thumping in my version is me putting my computer mic on the floor and stomping my foot-added reverb et voila. The words wld have to be up on the screen at first for sure. Anyway, no pipe dreams here-just having some fun. I went for something timeless that sounded like a chant you'd hear in arena type of thing.

I'm not that big on the Olé chant, and I do think that it should have left with Mikey Ribbs.

That being said, I think it's time for a new one.

Thx man! Yeah it's slow...that way people can sing it clearly. Think 'We Will Rock You'-slow, but powerful & effective.

Appreciate the listen and input!

"Tricouleur" is not a word... It's TRICOLORE.

I LOVE the ole ole song...it's part of the Habs identity now even if Bob Cole has no clue why. I get chills hearing it.

Sounds like a song that should be played at a funeral.

yeah, Le Tricolore...sounds very Irish. Another thing is, you won't get fans chanting it in other buildings because of all the anglo Hab fans that can't remember the lyrics.

Good attempt, though.

The song isn't bad, except for the word Tricouleur, but I believe that a french song could work out well if the Organization puts up the lyrics on the main board a few times so that people can remember the lyrics .
