Good idea. Your defense really needed a solid puck mover.

Here is an idea/suggestion on the issue of sending lists:

I know many people have trouble finding out who to send their list to at times. You should continue to send your list to anyone who says they will be online to make your selection. Additionally, you should send your list to the GM who is picking immediately after you. If for some reason the first person you sent a list to is unable to make the pick and your timer expires, I will not penalize the team with a timer reduction if next team up posts their pick late. This is because technically you didn't hold the draft up since the team picking behind you wasn't online to select anyhow until after your timer was up and they post your pick. Of course, this only applies if the team following you makes the pick themselves. If they sent a list to someone online and had the pick made for them normal timer penalties still apply.

Yes, Chaos and I felt thus far only selecting three defense men, all of which fantastic in their own end but not exactly ones to start up the rush. We both felt that selecting a puck moving dman would be a smart idea.

Stefan Persson (1977-1986)

From Legends of Hockey:
At the World Junior Championship held in December 1999 and January 2000 in Umeo and Skelleftea, Sweden, a smiling, middle-aged man could often be seen in the Swedish camp. The Junior Tre Kronor general manager, Stefan Persson, was trying to give back to hockey what hockey had given to him. A brilliant defenseman during the 1980s, Persson had indeed been given much.

Persson was with the NHL's New York Islanders for four Stanley Cup wins. Few Canadians or Americans can boast of this kind of success.

But Persson's record is also remarkable because those wins were in four successive years: 1980, 1981, 1982 and 1983. He also set another record with the Islanders, playing more games than any other Swedish player.

During nine seasons with the Islanders, including playoffs, Persson played in 724 games, scored 59 goals and made 367 scoring passes. He sent the four diamond rings he received for the four Stanley Cup wins to his father, Gosta, in the northern city of Pitea, where he'd begun his hockey career.

Persson was born on December 22, 1954, and made his debut as a defenseman with Pitea IF. In 1973 he joined Brynas. While with Brynas, he received his first national championship silver medal and two national championship gold medals, in 1976 and 1977. Then he went overseas to play in the NHL. Back home after his NHL career ended, Persson joined Sweden's big-league Boras HS and was later given an administrative position with the team. After that he was asked to become the national junior team's general manager.

NHL Regular Season Statistics
GM: 622
G: 52
A: 317
P: 369
PIM: 574
+/-: +176 (Only one season was he a minus ---> 1986 he was -3)

NHL Playoff Statistics
GM: 102
G: 7
A: 50
P: 57
PIM: 69

NHL Awards/Recognitions/Accomplishments
Lord Stanley's Cup (1980, 1981, 1982, 1983)
**Could have made a case for Persson to win the Conn Smythe in 1980 (5 Goals, 10 Assists) or in 1982 (1 Goal, 14 Assists).

Overall, Persson not only is a great defenseman during the season but he also could really step it up in the playoffs for his team.

Excellent pick. I've had him a few times. Always perplexed that he goes so much later than Morrow, when I believe that Persson was the better defenseman.

I also agree that Persson was a better overall defenseman than Morrow. Not as tough or as reliable in his own end, but certainly not bad and he had a lot more hand skill. A very underrated part of those great Islanders teams.

If that's the case, then IMO, BBB shouldn't have his clock reduced...not really much you can do under those circumstances.

Meh, I've only been to Toronto once. Maybe it's because he said he tried to log on but it kept booting him off; I was in a similar situation a couple weeks ago when I went to Mexico. I don't know, just I've had my time reduced in the past two drafts, and a couple of times it was due to unforseen circumstances like what BBB described.

That pick makes me think of another good player still left on the board (which is no way related to Ramage) . Not a fan of Ramage even if he does bring something at this point.

Man, you should miss picks more often... I always have problems voting against a team with my childhood idol on.
