Buying skates in NOVA / DC

Hi guys, this question is for people living in the NOVA / DC area.

I want to buy ice skates, so I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good place to get them. Is the pro shop in the Kettler Capitals Iceplex good? I was there this weekend but they didn't seem to have a huge selection.

Thank you!

Are you still thinking you probably want figure skates? A lot of times, the better shops for hockey stuff have employees who know nothing about figure skating, and vice versa.

If you're looking into figure skates, your best bet might be to register at www.skatingforums.com and ask the same question in the On-Ice forum- I know there are quite a few members from the DC/NoVa area, and they'll be able to give you recommendations (and possibly some places to avoid!)

I don't think you are going to find a huge selection anywhere. Kettler is ok, Ashburn is ok, Wheaton MD is ok.

I've heard that Kettler has limited selection but haven't been there myself since October. The rink at Laurel has pretty good selection and prices comparable to internet.
