Early Morning GDT- Kings @ Isles

9 AM faceoff!

Dang, and I was looking forward to sleeping in.

Will probably be another OT loss for the Kings, but hey I'd take it.

The Isles tele crew are talking about how the Isles are getting away with Penalties. Three times so far. The last one SHOULD have been a call as well. Huet looks very shakey. Again.

Huet has been beaten now around 7 times with two posts hit. He needs to be pulled asap. Not sharp today. Zizka is out on the frigging PP? He made three consecutive bloody awful passes that resulted in a turnover that almost netted a goal by blake.

Holland lost the puck in his skates giving up a turnover but the way the puck landed it could have happened to anyone. The real trouble at this point is my whipping boy Zizka. Granted, not having Modry is showing as is not having our best defencemen this year Vis, but for the love of god Zizka is playing like Rubbish.

I still feel Andy is pulling a Strbak with him. Playing him on a roadie so that all can have a peak at him hoping he does well enough to draw some interest so that we can move him. What for I have no idea. If he were to stay another season or two on the farm I could see him making the NHL, he just ins't close to ready from where I sit.

Two posts hit. Blake having his usual grand game against us. Justin Pap looking alright. Huet looking awful with two posts hit where he were clean beat on shots he should have been easily in front of. No Modry is really showing. Frolov had a couple of nice chances as did Army. I feel that Rick Dipietro has future star (he better he were a #1) skills and feel the Isles have done a grand job managing his career. God help me but Mad Mike may have done the better job.

I look for the Isles to score two goals this coming period. One right off and one at the midway. I love being wrong but this time, we truly look very flat and like nobody is meshing. Here is were Andy goes in and earns his "coach of the year" honours.

Corvo took a penalty to cover up for a mistake by his defencive partner last period. If you go to espn you can link for a listen to the game or you can do the flash score keeper. Just go to score on the left column.

Rose still skating off and on with Stupel/Frolov?

I caught the third period of the Kings/Devils game yesterday, it seemed like he was out there sometimes with them, but not every single shift.

Edit: Here's the boxscore for you guys at work or wherever: http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/boxscore?gid=2004021612

I wonder why Andy didn't use him in favour of Lappy yesterday. Typical player mistake as Klatt has been buzzing lately.

D pairings are (god help us) Holland and Matty, solid, Gleason and Zizka (why lord) Gleason looking solid making nice passes, and Corvo and Norton. Norton isn't playing poorly. I would use him much more than Zizka. Off of my soapbox now.

PK killed off. Klatt back on ice.

Looked like it was Gleason that passed it back to Corvo when I was watching. Maybe they will change it.

Norstrom to the locker room....no report yet.

Nevermind, he's back on the bench.

Norton makes a couple of awful passes and is now struggling with the extra ice time. Matty comes back. They are saying it were an edge.

Many a game is listened to by NHL radio for me. Sometimes direct tv don't work and I won't have a backdoor feed either so its off to NHL radio. Grand. Lots of trapping going on right now. Couple of good chances for all right now but nothing truly big. The Isles are frustrated and getting away with some slashes. Frolov just took a big hack to the back of the legs.

Avery just had a grand chance. Ebell returned the hack favour. Avery on fire with another chance.
