Drury: I would take a bullet for him any time, any day. We all would."

Thats our future captain right there people. When was the last time Chris Drury ever sought out a reporter to make a comment?

Quote:
"The referee was yelling, 'I'm going to give you two [minutes], that's a penalty,' and that's why I told Sean to get his stick down," Drury told The Post. "I wasn't yelling at him or giving him [garbage].

"He's a Ranger. He's our guy. I would take a bullet for him any time, any day. We all would."

Maybe he should worry more about scoring a goal and proving why he's so clutch. Hell, he can't even win faceoffs out there. He's been invisibile.

That is exactly the mindset a team needs. Thats what leadership is all about. And Dru isnt a verbose guy. If he says something, the room is listening.

Drury always comes through in the clutch...I have a strong feeling that he will finally score tonight. He is often quiet until the biggest games.

Patience my friend. Dru works hard. Hes a warrior. Hes scored HUGE goals everywhere he's played. The Rangers have yet to be in a true "clutch" situation this year.

If you think that we got Drury to score goals, then you're in for a rude awakening, my friend. Sure, he'll chip in some goals, some of them clutch, but his value to a team is far greater than that, as is evidenced by the aforementioned comment.

You can score all you like, but it's attitude like that that really unites a team. And that's what's going to win you games.

Proving again why he has the reputation he has and why he is worth every cent he is paid.

If you've been watching all year long, then you know that Drury has nothing to prove.

Hopefully Vally read that quote. That is how you talk to the media when your team is in the middle of a playoff battle.

I like Vally a lot, especially in terms of a player, but I gotta say that I was annoyed with his response... He can think that, but he shouldn't say it. I'd rather have a slightly worse goalie who will live and die by their teammates. Right or wrong.

The quote above just goes to further show why Drury has been a winner at just about everything he's done. It also provides a bit of help in terms of next year and Avery respecting someone outside of Shanny.

i never *****ed about either of the contracts because they both do so much more than just put up points which is why the rangers targeted both of them.....leadership, skill, defensivelyu aware, great hockey sense, great personalities.....with a young team, players with those qualities lead by example and arent selfish enough to not teach the young guys....exactly the players the rangers need

vally's quote

“It’s not in the spirit of the game. It worked and it’s effective. But it’s a gentleman’s game much like like golf. I wouldn’t have been happy if that happened to me. I probably would have reacted a little differently. Sean would have been picking his teeth up off the ice if it was me.”
