I predict a blowout sweep every single game and whenever that happens I look like a genius. I should've made this thread.

We were spoiled by our team winning so many games in the regular season that we forgot what it was like to face adversity. That has been our downfall since game 1, we have taken it easy for the most part. Now, as this series is coming down to the knitty and gritty, we have to dig deep to get this series over with. How many times has this team rebounded quickly in the next game after a loss? Especially on the road? We've won plenty of road games all year along. That is all we have to do on Saturday. Win.

With Carey Price in net, we have a great chance regardless of what happens. The key is scoring goals. This team has scored goals throughout the season. I would bet there wasn't a stretch of 3 games this season where this team scored as little as 5 goals in 3 games, let alone 3. The cream rises to the top eventually, the offence WILL start scoring. There is too much talent on this team NOT to explode sometime in this series.

We KNOW that Saku Koivu WILL return in these playoffs. There's absolutely no way that Koivu, after living through 12 years of mediocre hockey, is going to sit out game 6 or game 7 if there is one in this series with this dream season on the line. His return WILL lift our spirits.

What I'm really trying to say is that many pundits had us picked for the bottom or near it in the NHL this year. We forget how lucky we are to be a part of the playoffs at all this year, so let's act like it. We're not entitled to anything, except asking the team to give 100% for the rest of the way. Regardless of what happens the rest of the way, I want to see the boys go out saying that we did everything we could.

I look at this series and the Detroit vs. Nashville series and try to draw comparisons. In my heart of hearts, I think Detroit is going to put away a pesky and a refuses-to-roll-over Predators team and prevail in the end. Talent will take over. Why not for us too? If we can have faith in the 1st seed in the other conference, why not the 1st seed in ours.

Finally, history. Yes, history. f@#$ the 2004 comparisons. There's a reason why this franchise has made the Bruins their annual post-season punching bag. Whether it's Dryden being a wall in 1971, Lafleur's game tying goal in game 7 in 1979, Penney's heroics in 1984, Roy's heroics as a rookie in 1986, Theodore's stick save on Guerin in 2002, Zednik's winner in 2004, something positive ALWAYS seems to happen at key times when we play the Bruins. Let it happen again. The playoffs are all about unsung heroes, who will it be for us to help eliminate the B's?

Just remember:

*Start of the year - we apparently didn't have a chance.
*A slump hits in mid-November/early December - it was last year's collapse all over again.
*Team plays a dreadful game in Dallas on December 23rd - Another x-mas time disaster of a road trip to start a 2nd half collapse.
*The Super Bowl day collapse against the Rangers - many felt that was the start of our demise.
*Losing 6-1 to the Sens - the end of our division title hopes.
*3 game losing streak in February - our hold on a playoff spot in jeopardy as Buffalo is fast charging.
*The moves (and non-moves) at the deadline - the team would be crushed by them and collapse.
*Komisarek's injury in late March, followed a week later by Koivu's - a massive blow to division/conference title hopes.

EVERY SINGLE TIME people doubted this team this year they came through in flying colours and won. People are doubting them again...there is only one way to respond.

KEEP FAITH!!!

At the bottom of the standings is where some thought we'd be.

But we won our FREAKIN CONFERENCE and brought them to their knees.

Our boys didn't listen to all the doubters who said that they would fall.

Instead they bound together to tell their critics **** YOU ALL.

Our boys have hit a snag in the road and need us more then ever.

If you think you can do a better poem than this at 2am, you're pretty freakin clever.

So grab your flags, your jerseys, your hats and display them all with pride.

Cause our boys are far from done right now, there's plenty more to this ride.

I BELIEVE!!!
