In-N-Out's fries aren't that great, IMO.

It was a hair under $20. My buddy and I challenged his younger brother (~18yo) to finish it. He did, although he wasn't terribly happy about it. One of the workers there was talking up some guy in Vegas who did a 75x75 in one sitting.

I'm probably spoiled having an In N Out about five minutes from me as I rarely go anymore. Back home (little north of LA), the In N Out is virtually the only place open after 10pm.

Damn, the closest one is still about a 90 minute drive for me. I'll have to check one out next time I am heading up that way.

That's still impressive. Back in high school, we used to go to E-Z Takeout for their Grandslam+1 (5 layers of meat and cheese). That thing was a heartattack in a bun. It was so greasy, you could see the burger through the wrapper and bag. I can only imagine what an 8x8 would do to your arteries.

ever seen supersize me? its a must see if you love burgers and fast food.
There's the comparison. You can't lump all fast food together. Super size me featured McDonalds specifically whereas the ingredients In-N-Out uses are not nearly as harmful to your body.

I know it's still not "health food", but it's all-natural and should not be lumped together with the collective "fast food".

the only comparison is about in-n-out being fast food. as far as taste goes, theres no comparison. thats what i was saying.

as far as the health aspect of the product, i would have to research this. and, if you could enlighten us, what exactly do they put in the burger that is so much more diffrent than McDonald's? do they use "soy" meat? this would have close to zero fat. do they use organic meat? cause if they're not one of these...i would probably lump them with the 'fast food' crowd.

I haven't tried that place yet. I don't see any in my neck of the woods yet but I almost got off on the Lyons exit off the 5 this weekend on the road trip. Well...maybe next time

For the record, The Counter is awesome (Unfortunately the closest one to you is in Santa Monica)

I am no doctor but I believe the movie Supersize Me exposed the amount of perservatives they (McDonalds) put in their food among other stuff that isn't natural. I believe In N Out's food is all natural with no preservatives and never frozen. I wouldn't ever argue that In N Out's food is healthy but I think it is probably better for you than McDonalds but like I said, I am not doctor.

it may be slightly better...

but if those burgers came from cows pumped with hormones and antibiotics, i wouldn't necessarily call them much better.

The meat is only a small part of the equation thought. Remember sauces, buns, condiments, and fries. That's where you can get into the really unhealthy stuff

Red Robin is pretty good. Nothing special about the same quality of burger you are going to get at Appleby's or Chili's

Blasphemy. White Castle absolutey rules... buy 20 of those burgers... eat 10, heat 10 up the next day in the microwave. We don't have them down here, but I've been blessed enough to do this on more than one occasion.

I haven't read the thread and not sure if its been posted yet.

But i feel damn sorry for all you ****ers who have never tasted Quebec Poutine. I don't care if you've tasted it from some other location, its not poutine if its not on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere, Quebec.

It's good for a special occasion...but not every day fare...

I'm going to try Fatburger in a few days... If I like it...I'll use the other 12 free Fatburger coupons I have... If not...I'll give them to the officers at my Salvation Army corps who swear by them...

No arguments here.. I don't eat meat. Was just trying to answer the question. Mr. Foo Foo gave you some other reasons it could be better for you.

FYI.. if you don't eat meat, still go to IN n out and get a grilled cheese.. good stuff!

There's one dish that my friends and I always get at Red Robin called the Ensenada Chicken Platter. Two chicken breasts and a side salad. Relatively healthy and pretty tasty.
