OT - Marty Brodeur and Team Canada

It must be disappointing to be eliminated this way, but do you think he'd want to go.... its the one championship he's never been able to win.... He's got olympic gold, cup rings, world cup.... but he's missing the WC gold... will he go for it??

Having it in Canada might encourage him to go.

I think he will. I would, especially after loosing to the Rangers the way they did.

I would like to see him there. Although he did seem tired and run down in the playoffs as he did not play like himself.

I think hes getting old, I didnt watch any of the games but normally you hear about him winning it for his team. He let in 3+ goals in 4 out of 5 games

I think info is going to come out that he was hurt during the series. So I'd be very surprised if he goes.

NJ plays the trap their team is no longer the trap expert it ust to be , new coach , different players , less firepower , what could you really expect from NJ. They don't play real hockey and it's about time someone knocked their lights out.

I'd rather have Leclaire there.

Brodeur is currently the best goaler in the world. Yah, he wasn't so great in the series against the Rangers, but what he had as a defense? No Stevens, no Daneyko and no Niedermayer. Nobody to defend him.

So yeah, I certainly hope he goes with Team Canada.

no way he goes

he already played 80 games this year, more then almost any goalie including any that get to the cup finals

Who are the goalies so far, I haven't been keeping up? I'm guessing that Cam Ward is one of them.

i would prefer LeClaire has afirst goalie for team Canada

It would be the worst insult to even rob him of his chance to shine (even more after not being invited to the all star match)

if brodeur calls yzerman/hitchcock and says I want to play, he's not a guy you say no too...

True, it's not that I don't want him to play. But having two good young goalies represent us doesn't hurt either for the future.

Its fair to say this was not his best season.

It took him forever to get going and down the stretch he was not good at all

I disagree... Brodeur is still the top goalie in the league.... Top 3 at worst.

With the players New Jersey has lost recently especially on D and to still take them to the point that they always are challenging for the conference, division every year is incredible.

Gomez, Rafalski last year
Niedermayer, Stevens, etc....
