He should be able to make the national team roster if he's deserving of top 6 minutes in the NHL.

If he outshines Higgins, Lats, A.Kost or S.Kost..than I don't see why it would be a problem.

If he's asking for Top6 Minutes, than obviously its because he thinks he's good for it. So, on any team, if he doesn't perform well after 5-10Games, he wont be having that Top6 Minutes.

Hyped up to be the best free agent in Europe, I don't think you have the chance of just passing it up because he's asking for Top 6 Minutes. What happens if he does become the next Alfie?..how dumb would one be to say ''he was asking for Top 6Minutes at the time. Even with all the hype around him, we couldnt take that risk''

Especially with Koivu-Kovalev coming to an end of contract very soon.

I don't think we have much of a chance if he is adament of playing top 6 minutes, but still, it's like getting a free lottery ticket so why not?

We didn't even have a legit 2nd line RW for most of the year.
I agree I think he would make a good addition, especially for only 2M or so.

The article someone just posted made it seem unlikely.

Can't find anything that says one way or the other for sure.

if we get him I won't be too excited, but it couldn't hurt to add more skill. I think he could be a good replacement for Higgins on the 2nd line. Assuming we get him, and let Ryder leave we could look like this at the start of next year

Kost-Pleks-Kov
Lats-Koivu-Brun
Hig-Grabs-Kost
Kosto-Chip-Laps

I dont know much about the kid. I only hear about how good he is but I've never seen him play. It could be a great payoff though. He could essentially replace ryder, score more points, and cost less.

Quick question... how come Brunnstrom doesn't have to go in the draft? I ask this because Streit was 26 and we drafted him, we didn't sign him as a free agent.

From the URL that was posted, it appears that the Habs aren't high on his list of preferences.

I know (well according to the hype) it's just that some people were inserting Lathi in their mock lineup before the season while he was still unproven and i'm seeing the same thing with Brunnstrom. I know that apparently he has much more potential than Lathi but he's still unproven nonetheless.

That said i personally know jack**** about the guy and wouldn't be opposed to sign him to a tryout contract but i sure as hell wouldn't enter a bidding war for him.
