Three stars of the Series

Post your picks for the three stars of the series, from just the avs or from both teams (or just the wild if you'd like)
  1. Jose Theodore
  2. Andrew Brunette
  3. Brian Rolston

Theodore has been absolutely huge, Brunette has scored the first goal in three games, and Rolston has been the best player for the Wild.

Great Job Avs!

Theodore
Backstrom
Foote

Gotta give alot of credit to Backstrom. Without the two goalies these games would have been 6-5, 7-6 games easy.

I've seen Backstrom at his absolute best and he wasn't that in the series. He gave up many soft goals.

i disagree with this list because of theo being #2, but if ANYONE from the wild is #1 it would
be koivu without a doubt

I have to go with 4...from the Avs

1) Obviously Theo
2) Brunette...scoring first 3 games in a row
3) And this hurts me to say...Wolski. He was a monster in this series, even when he wasn't on the scoresheet
4) Ryan Smyth. He didn't score alot, but he was the best player on the ice in almost every game. Something turned on in this guys brain when the playoffs started

After watching the last two games, the old Jose Theodore that won the Hart Trophy and the Vezina Trophy is back in fine form. I'll call it right now - Colorado comes out of the West.

I think Theodore was VERY good. 6 million dollars a year good. But the Avs defense did a good job of keeping the shots away from the close range. He also let in a softie meaning OT loss in game...2? Koivus line was perhaps the best line in the series but Burns and Johnsson did a very good job as the top defenders on the Wild.

Finally why didn't the Wild try to get another top forward for the playoffs? Fedoruk on the first line?

You mean the shot that would've gone wide but ended up bouncing off Salei's toe and in? That wasn't a soft goal. The one questionable goal I thought was when...Koivu? stole the puck late in game 2 and put a slapper past Theodore from the blue line

At the risk of touching off a firestorm, I think Q deserves his fair share of credit for this series victory. His matching of Foote and Sauer against Gaborik was worth its weight in gold, and when Lemaire dressed his goons Q didn't react by wasting a roster spot on Parker. Granted there was still more line-juggling than I'd like and he didn't send anyone to shadow Koivu but I don't think it's a stretch to say Q was the better of the two coaches during the series
