I actually said that in my "An Example to draw hope from" thread.

In a way, I did have something to do with Montreal's win... but not as much as the actual players/coaches.

But most importantly, he won a ton of battles along the boards and winning a battle against Chara (who is nearly a foot taller and 90 pounds heavier...) in the first really set the tone. This team is different with him.

I love this guy. 3 assists in 2 games and a ton of heart. The little warrior really helped his team tonight. Congrats to Saku.
I was amazed. If anyone remember Yzerman playing on one knee, Saku was like that tonight, he did all the little things, all the big things that make a warrior, a warrior. Wow.

Remembered game 6, Boston just scored to lead 4-3. Saku went to the ice right away. Banging a Bruins player behind Thomas net, get the puck and pass it to Sergei Kostisysn. One pass to Higgins and we tied the game. That's how clutch he is.

I don't know how many of you caught it, but there was a small sign to me that we were going to bring it all game long tonight in the first.

I believe it was 1-0 already at the time, and the Koivu/Kovalev line just had a chance, with Kovalev firing a pass through to the front of the net and Koivu trying to find it to whack it in. Thomas froze it, and Koivu immediately skated over to Kovalev and tapped his hand as if to say "good work" or "nice try" or "I'll get that one next time".

It was a huge sign for me.

SAKU KOIVU BABY. GO HABS GO.

Saku Koivu got promoted to the first line LOL (fathers joke)

KEEP these lines, Koivu is at his BEST when it counts most, not a doubt in my mind

I wanted him to rest for round 2, but i think its BEST that he took in 2 playoff games to warm up, and man did he ever look good out there, 3 points in 2 games

Just as PJ pointed out, little Saku was hitting Chara and knocking him off balance in the first period...that's when we knew that CH came to play!

The heart beating inside this little big man is just tremendous!

Way to go Koivu and CH!

You proved something to yourselves and to everyone else tonight!

Why did it take so long to put Koivu on the same line with Kovalev?

Because the Kosty-Pleks-Kovy line was lighting it up.

that's true, but even before that dominant line emerged, they never really played on the same line since Kovalev has been on the team. I just find it odd

It was great to see him out there. He definitely was needed. This team really is different with him in the line-up - the intensity he brought to the last two games carried the team through this tough series.

My sentiments exactly. I was planning on getting his jersey this year as is but now it only makes it more apparent what #11 means to our team.
