I don't know if this has been said, but when Chara was sent to the box the PP got really good, so it was probably Chara's presence during their Penalty Kills that made our PP look idiotic...so do you think that our PP is going to get substantially better against Philly or New York on the second round??
PS. Saku is a damn hero, and Higgins was just awesome.
i think changing up the lines had a lot to do with the improved PP, with the same players, it felt like they tried the same thing over and over again, bruins adjusted, hence we blew, now with kovy with koivu and higgy, and the brothers with pleks, the PP actually started to click as the game went on, hopefully it continues.
Chara was a big reason why our PP failed but also because Boston was ready for all our cross-ice passing.
The biggest factor though was that Chara was playing on Kovalev's side and therefore, Kovalev couldn't cut into the middle for a shot or drop it down low for Plekanec to center it to AKost or Markov since Chara had that covered as well. Couple that with our inability to retrieve pucks down low and pass cross ice equalled our poor performance.
We'll have much better success against anyone else I'd wager.
