the islander store at the broadway mall in hicksville
I probably should have specified that it's not an Isles jersey...unless they do have an agreement with a place and can do all teams...thanks though I forgot to specify
I used to work at the Mets Clubhouse Shop in Roosevelt Field Mall and we did all NHL and MLB. Don't know if they do it anymore since they've moved across the hall into the smaller location. Back then it was $65 and took 3-4 weeks. No clue on the price or if they even do it anymore.
has anyone ever had any work done by they rinx pro shop or Pt. Jefferson sports?
i just ordered an early 2000's white jersey and im lookin to get my boy Steve Webb on the back of it. was thinking about using ice jerseys but i am really impatient and dont know if i can handle that kind of wait.
Does anyone know the dangers of taking a name plate and numbers off a jersey? i'd like to get a Grabner 3rd jersey but dont want to pay upwards of a 100$... I just found a Comrie 3rd (yukky) for 60$.. and was wondering if I could just get that taken off and put Grabner instead.. or would that not be very smart.
Well this all depends on how you feel with credit card security and how popular the player you are looking for is but jerseysroom.com has nhl jerseys for 38 bucks. I guess the deal is you by direct from China without the middle-man(NHL with a +200% mark up). I have dealt with them in the past and have had NO problems what so ever and they were not knockoffs(well they technically are but they are basically real you can't feel the difference) . Only catch is you have to buy 6 jerseys(get a couple buddies) if you want free shipping. You can mix and match.

and they only have Tavares, Dipietro and some retro Bossy and Trottier.

any other suggestions would be awesome
I would maybe shy away from Pt Jeff sports....Years ago (this was probably 1998) I took them a black kings jersey to have heat pressed letters put on for my roller hockey team. The guy neglected to put cardboard on the inside of the jersey, so my heat pressed letter on the back had an imprint of the Kings logo on it! Granted this was over ten years ago, but I took that as a bad sign and never went back there again!
I can show you several authentic baseball jerseys i still own from port jeff sporting goods from the 90s where their lettering and numbers they use looks nothing like the pros. I would never go back there. I was upset when I went to plaza sports too in '94 to get iron on vinyl numbers and letters on my ranger jersey and it came back without the ''shadow style'' i was so embarrassed when i wore it to school.
Since then I've used Cosbys and sent 2 jerseys to liebe.com who does the major league lettering and have gotten the proper numbers.
Cosbys was $100 for the name/numbers for a rangers jersey but it looks excellent. are they even still open in manhattan?
I used to work for the one in Westbury in '99. They had a big stash of old hockey sticks and '94 rangers pucks in their basement.
I used to go down there and shoot some around and even bought a Kevin Lowe stick from their old stock.
I had a Kasparaitis jersey made by P.J. Sports back in the early 90's. they did not put the letters on a nameplate first. They put the letters directly onto the jersey. It really pissed me off. I never returned to the store.
there's this place in queens called stitchesny that'll do your jerseys
they changed my bergy into a wis (yea yea...) and my fedotenko (dont judge) into a moulson
they're legit and cheap too... only about $40 for all the lettering for both jerseys i believe
Where in queens? I work on hillside ave in queens village and have a bergie jerz that I wanna change...prolly complete swap of name & # to JT or hammer but its worth it
