Andrei when taken off the Kovalev line really excels. It's pretty apparent that he's much more assertive in dictating the play with his puck control. It's difficult for him to do the same on Kovalev's line because Kovy is the QB on that line.

That's why I'm really liking the Higgs-Saku-Kovy / Kost-Plek-Kost combos. These are two legitimate first lines imo and I think that if Carbo sticks with them they will be money.

and what can i say about Kostopoulos------>
its amazing how fast Plekanec is and playing really good with the kosty bros. both played a great game also.

With regards to your post about poeple saying we were outplayed, I agree with you BTW. It boggles my mind as to how they believe the Flyers, who were beaten in almost every statistical category (outhit 38-28, shots tied 34-33 , faceoff circle dominated with Koivu leading the way, special teams as habs got a Shorty and a PP). I also believe they won the non technical and intangible part of the game in transition, speed and skill. IF anyone got lucky tonight it was Philly on two posts by Montreal in the first, a Flyers goal being redirected by Brisebois into his own net, and a reviewed goal that went in off a foot. 2 of their 3 goals were considered lucky.

We won this game because our players stepped up in the clutch and got it done.

The Kostitsyn brothers combining for a key goal when we were down by 2 goals.
Kovy with the 2nd goal ties it. A short handed goal.
Koivu key faceoff win with 30+ seconds left in the game.
Kovy with a bullet like shot top corner near side to tie it with half a minute left in the game. Clutch shot.
Markov with a key shot in OT putting it low on the net to get the goalie to give up a rebound.
Kosto getting into the slot for two shots for the winning goal.

Our guys made some huge plays when it mattered the most.

+1...they were lucky to have that 2-0 lead. they didn't have much in the way of pressure in the offensive zone for the first period.

Great game by Kovalev SHG, then a goal at the very end to send it to OT

But it doesn't matter anymore, really. We made them pay when it counted. It was justice for that bogus call on Komisarek which lead to their last goal. That was a bush-league call that was a complete 360 brain-fart by the ref. IE, we should had been on the PP instead of them, as that punk mugged Komi.

I can admit when we are being outplayed...like much of the first round I felt that the Bruins were the better team...but i feel like i was watching a different game or something. How were we outplayed in those periods?

I don't mean to be harping on this but I really don't understand why people are saying that. I agree that in the third our guys looked a little flat out there...the Flyers were doing a good job trying maintaining the lead...but the first two periods we were clearly the better team.

I don't know i'm actually impressed with the Flyers fans...some are pissed but you know what if the roles were reversed i'd be pissed

Having said that it was a weird game...both teams were lucky and unlucky at different times of the game

Welcome to fandom hell and dealing with Flyers fans. The most delusional and homerish fanbase on HF. We had to deal with it for seven games hopefully you only have to deal with it for 4. Go Habs I am now rooting for you guys to win the cup.

Who really cares that we ''did deserve'' that game or not?Winning is all that really counts in the playoffs,no matter how you slice it.
