We do, just without our own team in the rankings.

Yep, I assume the lists I get are ranked 1-8 unless otherwise specified. I know EagleBelfour likes to keep me on my toes in the Top 100 by sending them in reverse order.

So far I've gotten 17 out of (by my count) 41 possible votes. The 41 is the number of GMs plus co-GMs listed for the draft.

Jeez, I'm having a lot of trouble with the Lecavalier Division. There are too many really good teams in that division. Teams that will be near the bottom of my list would probably be near the top in other divisions.

Based on the voting results so far, I think it's safe to say you aren't alone in that sentiment.

One final reminder to everyone that votes are due at midnight tonight so make sure you get them in.

So far, I've gotten 26 out of a potential 41 ballots.

I'll probably send them a bit later tonight. Again, the appeal of sunny-Montreal is way too stong right now. In the worst case, I'll stop by an I-Net Coffee and send them from there. I already have my first and second place teams set in stone, but the bottom rankings are problematic.

I use a number system that i use to rank the teams
I calculate player value, intangiables, team concept, coaches. captains n pp n pk units,
1 to 6 points for each and when i am done i give an extra 1 to 10 points on how i liked the team overall.

LL... I use a similar system as yours.

I've finished my rankings...

The Bob Cole was .... well, rather easy to rank actually. A shoo-in first (for me), one group from 2 to 4, and another from 5 to 8, and I think we're set for two rookies vs. vets showdown in the semi-finals.

Things got a bit tougher for the Robson. Again, a clear-cut 1st place, then teams 2 to 5 are rather close to each other. 6th, 7th and 8th = basically a toss up, again.

The FH is the home division of my 2nd favorite team in the draft (as in... a team I might consider better than somebody else does). I got lots of troubles splitting the Freeze, the Scouts, the RCAF and the Eagles. Needless to say I won't tell for which ranks I had them close, and needless to say that they ain't in the order I ranked those teams. The RCAF stuck me as a team built for playoffs that might be playing a tougher opponent than expected because of the built (the RCAF were neither at the top, neither at the end of this group of teams)

The Lecavalier... Well, here, my votes might be COMPLETELY different from everybody else, especially since I'm really not as high as you are all on Lada.

Teasers....

- I have two rookies finishing first. They could be rookie teams, rookie GM's (including rookies with vets)...
- Another first never ranked higher than divisionnal fifth in ATD's (I THINK).
- Well, we are theorically first in our div... (I think that's how the votes are accounted...) . Let's just say that the team I had 1st (or 2nd, whatever) was IMO treated unfairly when I last heard of them. (the GM, not the team...)

I don't have the time nor the desire to sit inside in a +25 day and look at hockey players from 50-100 years back, when I could be sitting by the river looking at women in skimpy clothing....

Unfortunately - Roger's Pancreas ... GM of the Clagary Stampeders is no longer with us. He was banned about 10 days ago. MSE was really just along for the ride, so that team currently doesn't have a GM for the playoffs.

Playoff matchups have been posted. I just want to say it was a VERY close vote for many spots with one division having the top 3 teams all within 5 points of each other. There was also one tie that had to be resolved by the first-ever regular season tiebreaker (at least I think it is).

35 ballots were cast.

Playoff discussion will run for 3 days and then 1 day of voting will occur. Votes for the Quarterfinal playoff round will be due Friday 5/23 at midnight and will not be accepted any earlier than Thursday evening.

The difference between best and worse gets narrower with every iteration.

Before we get into the specific matchups and such, I just want to say that the biggest surprise to me thus far is Victoria's 6th seed. In spite of Hedberg's spotty draft attendance record, I think he assembled a very good team. There are a number of strong teams in the Robson, but suffice it to say, I think Victoria deserved better than a 6 seed.

Actually, I thought the gap from the top teams to the bottom couple teams (with the exception of one division) was larger than the last couple drafts.

If I had to pick one surprise, it would be Glace Bay getting No. 2 in their division. Thought they were better-suited to playoff hockey. Which could be a scary thought. Didn't like the Miners offence one bit. I actually had the Maroons ahead of the Miners.

Normally I would say that I'm surprised that arrbez's entry was 6th, and JFF's entry was seventh, but the only thing I expected was Brooklyn to be 8th. Nothing else in that division surprised me. And that's not a slight to Vakar's team, it's just that he was in a big-time group of death. I'd say that 7 of the top 12-15 teams in the draft are in that one division.
