OT: Met Saku, Mikko and Olli today and..

..Jokinen seems like a jackass. I was at Scotia Square, which is downtown Halifax, today and I saw about 10-15 guys walking in matching shirts. I thought I saw Saku but I wasn't sure if it was him. Then I started walking and literally almost ran into Oli Jokinen and I was 100% sure it was him. I know exactly what he looks like. They sat down at some Chinese Restaurant and when they were done I started talking to Saku, and surprisingly seemed like a funny guy.

I asked Saku for his autograph and he said he didn't have a pen or marker. I was like ****, me neither, so he turned and asked Oli and he just replied with "why the **** would I have a marker?" What kind of response is that? Saku almost rolled his eyes at him. I showed him my TML wallet and said oh well I was just going to get you to sign this anyways and he had a good laugh about it. He said not many TML fans ask him for autographs. I just said "ya but it's not every day I meet any NHL players" and he just said "Really? Surprising enough I meet them all the time" and he just laughed about it.

Despite me "hating" the Habs, I actually kind of like Saku. He seems like a funny guy and friendly. Oli just seems like an ass and cocky as hell.

Mikko was standing with Saku, too. He didn't say too much, though.

Some Habs fan told me I should share it over on the Habs board.

Saku is a class act. Too bad you didn't get the autograph.

Ogre Jokinen probably saw himself in the mirror earlier that day... that's reason enough to be in a mood.

Good stuff, I think Saku probably is a very nice guy, and away from the horror show media in Montreal, he is probably alot more relaxed...what's up with Jokinen? Not like he has ever won anything? Sometimes these guys think they are larger than life...

Probably still pissed to have been kicked out of the game against USA.

But seriously, I believe he's cocky and has a strong personality, but he's very passionate on the ice, so I don't really care.

The guy is welcome to share his Koivu story. It's not like he's trolling.

Exactly, come on guys why do you have to be so negative, we really dont want to hear from you if you have something bad to say, so take your rude comments and go some where else with them.

Im sure Tuggy wasn't serious.

I had a picture taken with Saku last year after a game against Atlanta. Didn't talk though.

Ya I was privileged to have been able to have lunch with the whole team. I spoke to Koivu for about 15 minutes we discussed Cancer as at the time I was battling cancer and going through rough CHEMO treatments (now in remission for 2 months). We had similar types of cancer Non-Hodgkins, mine is chronic and I also have Leukemia. Anyways this just to say how nice this guy and the whole team really are. I didn't really disturb anyone during their lunch as it was a pre game meal (Montreal beat Boston that night) but they all came to my table once they were done to chat take pictures and sign my jersey and a few other things I had. The pre game lunch is behind closed doors so I was there with the team and no one else (the public) was allowed in.

Time of my life!

What the **** would Jokinen have to be cocky about? That he's about to break the record for most regular season games without seeing a minute of playoff time?

He should be carrying a marker just in case a single hockey fan still gives two ***** about his underachieving ass.

Saku's a g though.

Its crazy how amazing Koivu is that he would sit down and have lunch with you and talk to you about the cancer, shows how much of an awesome person he is. My bf the one that started this post(Mapes) His niece who is 2 years old was diagnosed with cancer(they found a tumor on her kidney that was over 1 pound) which was covering pretty much the entire kidney. I hope you're doing well with your Chemo and stay strong!
