Brisebois has been fairly solid for Habs in the playoffs thus far and has earned a regular spot for now. Even legends have occasional bad bounces go against them. I was a big Brisebois pessimist throughout the season but I can't complain about his play in the extra season so let's give him the benefit of the doubt right now...
He's one of our best players, this was an unfortunate mistake.
I agree that it was an unfortunate mistake but I see Brisebois as a passive, nonphysical defender who frightens no one and is capable of a wide repertoire of more common mistakes, not just this unusual type even for him. He reminds me more of Patrick Traverse than of Roman Hamrlik.
Even Gretzky scored into his own net. Remember game 1 of the '93 Finals? Our only goal was thanks to the Great One.
I though Briesebois was excellent in Games 1-4 of the first round. He's slowed down abit since then and is sometimes behind the play. Scoring in his own net was a result of his lack of speed. If he doesn't show any more signs of fatigue he should be ok, if not, then we might see OB take his place and give him a rest.
He's still making solid passes and picking up points.
Whatever, it's like Carbo or someone said: "good play, bad luck." Brisebois has a great first pass and can fill in on the powerplay. He has veteren leadership at a time in the year when it means the most. He ****s up every now and then, but so does everyone not named Roman Hamrlik who is in our line up. Breezy maybe ****s up 1 extra time per game than the average guy..1 or 2
I am one of the biggest anti-Breezer guys on here.. But now that i've calmed down from his horrible first period last game.. With Markov injured, Brisebois is pretty much running our transition game right now so we need him in there.
