Martin Biron

Wow! Tremendous performance last night. The little goaltender from Lac St. Charles delivered in game 2, no doubt. He owned the Canadiens' offense, and was extremely solid.

And the fact that he also called it makes the performance even cooler. I mean, the crowd was after him, taunting him all night and he managed to keep his cool.

We all know that Biron waited a long time throughout his NHL career for his chance to shine and game 2 was probably his best game ever, clutchwise. Props to Biron, but you know what? It's all over now...

Why? Because in my mind, he's nothing more than a quality backup that stood on his head like many quebecer goalies do in Montreal, but it's all over now. The Habs will light him up from now on, mark my words.

He's been good but he's been lucky too. His luck will run out sooner than later. We're badly outplaying them, you can't win a series that way.

Well he outplayed one Montreal goalie and now he is outplaying the other.

Flyers fans will take it.

4 games in 6 days? Last 3 on the road. Maybe Flyers will look better at home.

They better, cause in all honesty I'm far from being impressed from what I've seen from PHI so far in the PO, I can't help but ask myself how they managed to stay in the top 8.

Sure, Biron stole one for them tonight, but that's about it... even playing like **** Mtl came back in game 1, and the only reason it wasnt a blow-out in Habs favor in game 2 is because of the goalie(s)...

Maybe. That's not a given though. We'll see. The posts and the good bounces won't be there for the whole series, you guys will have to tighten up if you want to win this one. We match up well though, these are nice games to watch. Speed and intensity, you gotta love that. I'll love it even more once you guys are on vacation.

Hey..

I do not think anyone picked the Flyers to win and go to the 3rd round. We are just happy to be here going home 1:1

Hell, only Monkey picked the Flyers to win in the 1st round. So like I said, we are just happy to be here.

Your boy Price looks a bit shaky facing a good o-sive team.

As far as Biron, he is playing well so far. Not bad for a back up.

Too bad Knuble (maybe he will be back soon) and Gagne are out.

I'm not one of the guys that call him a back up. I think Biron is a fairly capable no. 1. People say these make their luck... Still, I hope Biron's will run out!

If Knuble and Gagne were there, you wouldn't have Prospal, and Prospal is doing very good. You can't know how your team would have played if these two were there instead of Prospal.

Biron was the difference no doubt about it and R.J. Umberger is the luckiest guy on earth right now.

He didn't really stand on his head, he played a good game, but the Habs missed a ton of great chances...open nets and wide open sides. They hit what, 4 posts?

During the regular season and of course that means nothing in playoffs Flyers record with Gagne in the line up was something line 13-3-1. Both Gagne and Briere were a PPG players.

I am not making any excuses.. It is what it is. LIke I said earlier I am happy with 1:1 going back to Philly.

I don't quite understand how people are still calling Biron a backup....

He is one of the main reasons the flyers are still playing

We made him look good last night. His rebound control was ****, he was off angles and made terrible decisions with the puck. When we had a chance, we shot it at him and did not shoot into the gaping holes he was leaving.

He had an average game. His glove save on Plek in the 2nd was his only big save IMO.

He's let sooooo many big juicy rebounds. We just didn't capitalize on those.

Yeah exactly, he played good i'll admit that but we made him look great. So many times he was out of position and we ended up missing the net or hitting the post and other times we shot it right at him or in his glove. In all honesty if our guys were able to finish some of their plays yesterday we could've had at least 6 or 7 goals.

Just as a point of interest, while Biron is underweight, he is still 6'1". Taller than most of us here.

Even on pleks, it was one of those saves that makes a goalie look amazing, but in reality was more like the forward with half the net open shooting right into his glove.

Pleks did make Biron look good on that one...but ya gotta give credit, where credit is due...Biron played well in game 2 for sure...

I think Biron played like a No 1 goalie last night.
I hope Price will go back to playing like a number one goalie sometime soon.

I wouldn't be so sure. If Marty gets hot his streaks can last quite a long while. He holds the Sabres franchise records or most consecutive wins (13) and most consecutive shutouts (3). He's an above average goalie, not a backup like some keep making him out to be.
