Jagr or Sakic

I searched and quite frankly, I'm astonished I didn't find a thread between these two. It's calsh of the titans we have there. If I didn't search properly and it was already done, then delete it please.

Anyways, it's pretty self explanatory, who do you consider the greatest player between Jaromir Jagr and Joe Sakic? Not just right now but, for all their career.

Very tough, as a leader I'd take Sackic, but skills I'd have to go with Jagr.

Everything else - Jagr

If you are choosin Sakic it is only because of personal feelings about his character.

Jagr is a top 15 player ever. Sakic is a borderline top 30.

Jagr without thinking twice. He was the best forward of his generation.

Or maybe because playoffs could() be considered more important than regular season benchmarks

If Sakic is allowed to bribe the scorekeepers like usual, then his best still falls short of Jagr.

Secondary Sakic is a criminal and a disgrace. Jaromir Jagr is an unrivalled offensive force.

sakic everyday of the week.
leadership takes teams further than just skill otherwise rangers would of won a few cups with jagr in the lineup by now.

Anybody who picks Sakic is letting personal feelings get in the way. Leadership or no leadership, Jagr was the far better player.

Sakic, a team can win a cup with him as their best player.

If I have a generational player like Lemieux, I'll take Jagr to ride his coattails.

Lol Jagr was far from somebody who was riding Marios coattails throughout this career. Meanwhile look at the superstars Sakic has been surrounded by in his career.

Im not the least bit shocked by the fact that people are voting Sakic because of the huge anti Jagr bias on this forum, for all the leadership lovers is it really enough to compensate for an additional 2 pearsons all the art rosses the numerous years of being a Hart finalist. Jagr carried Pens teams that were absolutely horrible into the playoffs year after year, Jags also a hell of a good leader in Pittsburgh before the meltdown. Jagr gets so much crap on this forum its disgusting, people refer to him as soft but obviously didnt see when he was playing with what amounted to one arm in the playoffs, 99 against the Devils Jagr misses games 2-5 with a groin injury comes in and scores the game tieing and overtime winning goals in game 6. 155 points in 149 playoff games so lets not here any crap about how Sakic is such a great playoff performer because Jagr is aswell while ofcourse Sakics playoff numbers are a little better A the difference isnt enough to make a big deal of B Sakic spent more time with better linemates.. Jagr was regularly considered the premier player in the world, when did Sakic ever have that honor? not nearly as consistently as Jagr. However Sakic will continue to get the nice guy/leadership/Canadian/anyone but Jagr votes ignoring that Jagr is one of the greatest of all time.

There's a lot more to hockey than offensive numbers and Art Ross trophy's.

...And the year was 2001. When he beat Jagr for the honor.

I didnt say Sakic was never considered the best player in the world I said he wasnt considered the best player in the world nearly consistently as Jagr. Yeah there is more to hockey than offensive numbers and trophies but Sakic doesnt do enough ontop of what Jagr does to compensate the difference, Jagr had the better peak, has a much more decorated individual career has a comparable number of cups (Yes Jagr got his with Mario, Sakic had his share of superstars to play with aswell so no need to play this game) the only thing Sakic wins is leadership and even then Jagr in his prime was a great leader and was a great leader on the Rangers also.
