So, how do you think it ends up on Yahoo's radar? Just my guess, but it starts with a P and ends with an R...

I think that's gonna be what I call him when he hits the NHL..Plus 13. He can outscore Crosby and Ovechkin, but I'll call him Plus 13.

Maybe even write it like, +13.

It is part of a TV, Radio and print ad campaign. There has already been atleast one newspaper ad.

I am completely unable to see why some would have a problem with Tampa being open about taking Stamkos. The draft order is public record, Stamkos is more or less universally regarded as the number 1, Tampa wants to get their marketing right.

What's the problem?

They should post the video where he states he wants to be a Leaf.

Then their fans would think they're drafting a born loser. Ba-ziiing!!

Honestly, it's an odd strategy, but they gotta sell tickets and obviously they feel Stamkos has a good shot at making the team next year. If he does, I think it will be good for him to have Lecavalier there in the same way it was good for Crosby to have Lemieux in Pittsburgh.

Sad part is, it's true...but he is within the stranglehold market of the Leafs.

I'm a die hard Ranger fan, but am moving to Tampa in June. This adds a little more excitement to my move. This kid is going to be fun to watch!!

I don't get why Pavel Brendl's 73 goal WHL season isn't mention in the "In Good Company" section referring to other great players and their goal totals in juniors???

Stamkos is going to be a good one...as an Oiler fan I'm glad he's getting drafted in the East.

nice to see Tampa sticking with their word. Not gonna trade is not gonna trade it. Its not that they dont waste other GM's time to see "lets see what we can get if we decide to shop the pick" type of mentality. Its a waste of time if they never intend to trade it. Kinda like what Atlanta did in 01, they shopped their pick around, just to see what they can get what they never intended to trade it.

Too bad Stamkos really wanted to play in LA. Now he will still be overshadowed by Vinny and MSL.

Try being the worst team in the league since mid-December then having the #1 pick stolen right out from under you by a blatantly tanking team. Would you get over it then?
You should be more upset about your team missing the playoffs instead of not landing the #1 pick.

Right. Let's go back to 2004 and see if you're saying the same things.

That Dan Boyle contract says otherwise.

Way better than paying a washed up Blake almost as much...

And it looks to me that Feaster's essentially rebuilt his team in the last two years, making them into what looks to be a real future contender.

Who cares that it was the Lightning who got it? TB tanking has NOTHING to do with LA losing the draft lottery. Unless you believe in the butterfly effect stuff.

I would gladly trade Feaster for Lombardi.

(After the draft so he doesn't pick Doughty first like you know he would.)

You're going to get a good player anyway, quit crying & acting like someone stole your binky.

"Yahoo's radar?" The site was advertised in a few papers in Tampa. It was noticed by Tampa fans & posted about on this and other message boards, and that blogger is a poster here. It was also written about by one local beat writer. I'd say it's achieved its purpose in creating some buzz.

You interested in more high draft picks or something? (sorry, couldn't resist)

That's too funny. Reminds me of the TSN Draft Lottery show when they basically asked Stamkos if he was excited he was going to be a member of the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Not a bad idea by them though, pretty much no way they don't select him.

Every year the 2nd, 3rd, etc... accuse the lottery winner (even if it had the worst record) of tanking...of course, they were, & better than the 2nd, 3rd, etc...

Tortorella was on XM radio this morning and basically annointed Stamkos as the Lightning's 2d line center next year. It's their right to do and say what they want but it kind of takes the 'trade for a huge overpayment' option off the table.
