I have no problem with this decision....its up to Price to turn things around now. He has played poorly this whole series, time for him to make up for that and turn things around.
If he bobbles the puck or lets in a weak goal without making a couple of good saves early in the game....he should get the hook and let Halak go the rest of the way. Because if Price is rattled....there is no sense keeping him in the net. Give him a break and let him get some confidence back.
When everyone was a little rattled in Game 7 against the Bruins, Price was rock solid. He needs to get back in the zone because if we go down 3-1 we a re done like dinner.
Would have been surprised if Carbo didn't go back to Price.
Putting Price back in is the right move.
I hope 2 things have happened from last night
(1) It might have done Price some good to sit in the 3rd, watch the game, soak in the atmosphere. Might help for game #4
(2) That Price goes back to the videotape. I think he might be back in the crease a little too much.
As others have said...we live and die with Price. He hasn't looked his best this series...but I am confident he is gonna come out with his best in game 4. Go Price go and go Habs go!!! We will win this series in 6. Philly has been dominated in 3 straight games and lady luck has run out.
I knew Carbo would send him back and i think its the right decision. You have to give him a chance to get out his struggle. Right now hes like a tennis player who has won his first 2 sets but lost his next two. Confidence is low but he needs to find a way refocus and forget the last sets. Champions always find a way to win that last set, lets see if Price has it in him.
Tomorrow is the most important game of the series. Either we go down 1-3 or we tie the series. We need nothing less than a shutout from Carey Price.
Go Carey
