Thank You New York Rangers

Thanks for a great season. Hopefully this season is a bit of a step back to take two steps forward.

Lots of positives for what essentially is a promising young team going forward.

Its not easy winning it all, but as a fan, I really do enjoy watching you try.

Always an honor, always with pride.

Thanks

agreed..

I'm moving to Tampa in a few weeks....it's going to be tough...but I made sure the apt. I got will have a terrace with a SW exposure for DirecTV.

This one hurts, but as always, Rangers hockey got me through another crappy winter. Ranger games have been my evening solace since 1989.

Oh and BIG SUPER THANKS to all the regulars who post on this board. I'd shout out to some but I wouldn't want to leave anyone out.

You all bring me many laughs and many (too many really) hours of great hockey insights and banter.

You also put up with my own , sometimes twisted, sometime too passionate late night ideas.

Thanks

Thanks Rangers!

We are not the best team, but I know our guys truly cared about winning. It will only help in the long-run. Hopefully, we can come back a bit stronger next year. Should be an interesting off-season.

I'm proud of them for going down fighting. I'm proud of them for giving us a good season. I'm proud of them for making it infinitely easier to switch over from baseball mode to hockey mode than vice versa. I'm proud of them for how much I'm gonna miss them over the summer lol. Thanks for a great year Rangs! Let's hope we continue to improve over the summer and go even further next year.

Also, though I didn't post all that much, this was a great season because I found HFboards. I was more informed and entertained between games than any season before, so thanks to all of you as well. Hopefully the boards don't die down over the summer because I'll be counting on them for a hockey fix.

There'll probably be an awards thread or something at some point, once everyone has cooled down and the eye swelling goes down.

I won't lie. This year was disappointing. The team was built to win THIS YEAR. If Jagr leaves, I see our boys being a fringe playoff team at best next year.

All pessimism aside, I would like to retract my previous statement in the GDT saying that this team had no heart. I did not watch the 3rd period and OT due to prior engagements, but it sounds like they were really shafted by the officials. It's a crying shame that our team had to lose this way. I know one thing, I don't want Crosby to even sniff the Cup.

This team went down fighting, and as a fan, I could not be proud of our boys in blue.

They made great additions last summer. And Dubi and Staal, late season Cally making the team, were AWESOME HOMEGROWN additions.

But they were and still are a couple pieces short. Most of us knew it all year.

There will be plenty of threads to vent, discuss such things.

Lets make this a thread of gratitude

The Rangers have been a fringe playoff team the last two seasons with Jagr.Lets not make it seem Jagr is the Jagr from the 1990's.

Thanks for a great year Rangers!! And also to everyone on this board. This year has given a fan everything you could want besides the cup. We were in first and last and we had a ton of success but also had to deal with a lot of failure. All in All it was enjoyable.

Hopefully we can look at this year and in my opinion, the only thing that we truly need to win the cup is a powerplay QB. Someone who can make our powerplay successful. If we could have had even a remotely talented power play we would have won sooooooo many more games. Lets hope that Sather is already looking to the future!!

Also resign Avery because without him we lose too much. And I think it is time Shanny retires and gets some kinda job on the coaching staff because he showed in this series that he just plain cannot keep up with anyone in the playoffs. If we are gonna keep a veteran lets make it the guy who can still play his heart out and have something to show for it in the stats. JAROMIR JAGR!!!

We can do this!!!! Next year is the year!!!!

Any time you get a month of extra hockey, something good is going on.

While this may have been a dissapointment, I don't consider it so because of how much better Pitty was than us. We played hard, and worked as hard as anyone else. Just didn't get the bounces against a really, really good team.

Hopefully next year...

Hell of a year, Rangers. Thanks for the ride.

That was a wild ride. They could have folded but kept fighting back. Pens were just too strong. Much stronger than the second rate organization (Devils) and their 21 total fans lol. I know some Devils fans who are gonna taunt me but hey, we took a dump on them all year so they have to be happy about SOMETHING.

Great season. Look forward to see the direction of the team.

Was a fun season. With the youngsters, Dubinsky, Staal, Dawes, Girardi, Callahan all having great seasons. Gomez and at the end Drury starting to gel into the team. Jagr coming alive at the end. Lundqvist in the 2nd half looking as dominant as ever.

Dominating the Devils all season and knocking them out hard in the playoffs. Putting up a great fight against the Pens (could have won if a few factors worked out our way). How about 5, FIVE rookies scoring goals in these playoffs (Dawes, Staal, Dubinsky, Callahan, Korpikoski)

Yes things could have gone better, but there's no reason to be ashamed of this team. Things will only get better in the upcoming years.

Summer's around the corner, it flies by. Before you know it, the draft will be coming around, then July 1st, then training camp and preseason. 5 months goes by quite quickly.
