Man, I read this on another board and thought it said Bucky...My heart skipped about 4,000 beats.
The dude we got is a monster. Any info on him BJ's fans?
So here's the move Edzo was talking about
Buckley was expendable. Even if he wasn't traded, this was going to be his last in the Pens organisation. And Pauli Levokari is a mammoth. 6-7, 247 lbs. The CBJ & Syracuse Crunch websites actually have him listed at 260 lbs.
"Stay at home defensive defenseman. Simple but affective game while carrying the puck. Good agility and mobility on his feet. Has soft hands and good passing skills. Very good shot."
I've seen Lekovari a number of times and he's been pretty decent. Plays alot like Buckley, except he's bigger and stronger.
I never have a problem with a trade like this.
Pauli Levokari is listed as anywhere from 226 pounds to 265 pounds. He was a overage player taken by Atlanta in the 2002 draft.
He went directly to the Chicago Wolves and then they (the Wolves/Thrashers) assigned him to the Greenville Grrrowl . . . where he was traded to Columbus, assigned to the Syacuse Crunch. If I recall corectly he injured his knee in a WB/S game. Anyhow, sometimes some of these guys are late bloomers. He's a year younger than Dan Focht . . . so, who knows what we really have here.
The Beast to Pittsburgh Hopefully he'll get a couple of games with the big team. His biggest weaknesses is his rather slow acceleration (pretty good skater otherwise) and it wouldn't hurt if he was a bit tougher.
