I don't think he was outright released he'd still be under contract to the Rangers in the NHL wasn't he loaned, or conditionally released?

That's another question entirely, I have to think the guy could put up some points in the NHL he was PPG in the SM Liga, last year in the AHL he had like 46 points in 50 something games, so its not like he has no talent.

I cant really say i know everything bout his situation but i wouldn't doubt you seeing him in an NHL uniform of some sort in the next two years.

If Jan Hlavac can come back to the NHL I think there is a spot for Immo in the NHL. I agree with what another poster said, he produced everytime he was called up and for whatever reason was unfairly treated. The skating thing is bull I think. When I seen him he wasn't fast but he sure wasn't one of the slowest guys out there.

Maybe Dallas will give him a shot, they seem to like those Fin players.

rather have steve ott

to NYR: Ott and Lundqvist
to Dallas: Prucha Immonen and Hollweg

Ott and Avery would be fun, both play the same style. good team guy 25 years old but not alot of skill, kills penalties.

Immonen was one of those players who's value was never as high anywhere as it was here.

Clump him with the Pocks of the world as a AAAA player who is on the bubble.

He could probably play over the short term for a team looking to bridge a gap, but I don't see him really "sticking" anywhere over the long term or pushing some of the other talent we have.

Immonen just came to the organization at the wrong time. Ten years ago we would've tried passing him off as a prospect, but with guys like Dubinsky, Dawes, Callahan, Staal, etc. showing they belong, we can't even use the Rangers rookie "prejudice" to get this one over.

Right now, there isn't really a center on this team that I would give up for Immonen. At best you MIGHT be able to say Betts, but I personally would not.
