Ohh poor him only 6 millions per year, poor poor poor him.

I don't have one bit of comprehension for failing hockey players, not one bit. They are all paid to deal with their situation in a positive fashion, or else.

Neither do I. I just find it interesting how many players in Montreal can go from really good, to really bad... with a little help from the pressure of playing for the CH.

Better we learn that quick.... If you can't handle pressure of day to day life playing for the CH, you can't handle playoff pressure either.

How many 2nd round meltdowns for Theo now??

I hope to God this is true. His presence will increase our chances to finally dominate the Sens.

Is Eklund for real?

Seriously, why on heart would Ottawa even consider Theo as their new number 1 goaltender... actually, consider him a number 1 period...

Shouldn't they offload some of the contracts they already have in the pipes before adding another couple million to the payroll?

Same reason they considered Emery a n1

Well Redden seems to be out, that will create cap space. But all the money to the goaltenders they have, giving another big one to Theodore who isn't much more of a sure thing then they have would be another mistake. Buyout is a option but will count agaisnt the cap too.

Goaltending is a problem in Ottawa, that's obvious. But the playoff prouved it wasn't there only problem and maybe they should work harder in dealing with those then throwing Gerber under the bus all the time.

I was honestly expecting a thread on this board for him to be signed to back up Price and to trade Halak for Lecavalier.

Well..to be fair..I think a lot of injuries never helped either.. they were just allowed to walk in and pepper Theo from anywhere.

You see a player lose his edge and voila.. they rarely get it back.

Okay so theo's 2008 2nd round loss via sweep was due to injuries....
What was the 06 excuse??
the 04 one??
the 02 one?? You remember 02.... Habs up 3-0 in the third period of game 4 about to take a 3-1 series lead.... Canes tie it up and win in OT. Theo gets lit up in games 5 and 6 and is pulled in both games.... What was his excuse then.

The guy has choked in the second round 4 times now.

Well, Emery did have a very impressive stint at one point... I guess Theo too though...

Well, what the heck, Ottawa can screw themselves up even more if they want to.. I won't be the one complaining!

well IF true, this has nothing to do with Theo, it will turn out to be about the fact nobody wants Emery and the only way to dump him is to trade him in this kind of trade.

This kind of attitude is a reason superstars refuse to sign here. Who wants to play here with all the pressure on them? Theodore was playing great with Colorado. Had they not had injuries this season, they would have gone far in the playoffs just like Ribiero has.

Superstars don't worry about the critics, they're on their own level of talent. Superstars thrive under pressure and elevate their game every single game. Superstars spend their whole careers living up to expectations, but they always end up surpassing them. Don't indirectly infer to Ribeiro/Theo as superstars, because they aren't superstar material.

Wrong, wrong and wrong. Jagr, Sundin, LaFontaine, Yzerman, Gretzky.. you name them... all superstars take stuff personally. Some can work through it, some struggle with it.

You think superstars aren't human, don't have feelings? You don't remember Roy strutting off the bench?

How many of those superstars you just named struggled for years to recover and played horribly for long long periods of time? You don't question the likes of Gretzky, Lemieux, Jagr, you can't take away their innate skill and passion. Wrong, wrong, and wrong. Gainey/Robinson/Rocket, the list goes on, dont confuse Theodore with someone worth discussing.

Edit: Yes I do remember Roy strutting off the bench, but I also remember him hoisting a cup in his hands the following year. You don't just forget how to be great.

How many goaltenders have fallen from grace over the past 15 years?

Nothing to do with the city IMO.
