So. I'm tired and I have to finish my english essay. I hate school.
me too im tired!
at this rate Ill be sleeping before the hockey game starts
Ive been doing so many sports and training the last couple of days my body is like in shut down mode
Oh I've known for a while that the sisters weren't the way for me, but it seems everyone gets caught in the hype at OCI time.
Know what you would like to do? The articling race hype is funny. The bar school panic (may be just a Quebec thing) is funny. The don't get fired everyear race is funny. The partnership race is funny. Law people are generally funny, in a sad way.

I don't know if I want to do corporate and business litigation or more office type corporate law.... I'd like to get in at a firm where I can try both in a rotation system for articling..... I'd also like to get in at a good firm in either Hamilton or London, ON, or somewhere like that doing these things, stay away from the bay street rat race. I know the money is smaller in those two cities, but the cost of living in those cities is also significantly less compared to toronto, and the commute is a lot less stressful, and i hear the hours are better too.... So thats what I'm focusing on now.... Got 4 interviews so far during articling week for the two cities (May 26th-30th).
I guess I'll put in the toronto applications too, but if I can get in to a good firm in Hamilton or London I'd take that. Especially since a couple of my interviews are with firms that also have Toronto offices... I think If I do a good job and 5 years from now I decide I want that Toronto life I can still switch into those offices... but right now bay street is not the ideal place i wanna be.
I just thought it would be funny to highlight the fact that you were talking about an essay again. I thought you thought it would be funny to type something about an essay again.

Think of all the fun to be had in Toronto hassling Leaf fans...

Anywho, what's your essay about?
Global warming.
And yeas, It's the 4th essay since two weeks. One was due Tuesday, yesterday was the Epreuve Uniforme de Francais (4h30 to write some random ********), and my final essay related to my field of study in Englisgh.
Everybody is different and there isn't a one size fits all, but I find bay street lawyers to be nuts. Complete lunatics. I worked in our Mtl office, but did many files with our Toronto lawyers and of course meet them few times a year at social events. The younger ones seemed nice enough, but the older ones (those that stayed) were these incredible unidimensional work machines. They even scare the hell out of our Mtl partners.
Hamilton with a balanced life is what I would suggest if you don't really see yourself as a work only type (and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, but you have to want it). Bah, I'm sure you've heard all of this over and over and it is, at the least, a good place to start if one isn't sure of where to go and wants to keep options open. If you do know, or have a clear idea, just skip the madness and go for it.
Excellent. How did you get into that? What type of services? Too many questions?
Well once I finished college I worked for a small company installng voice and data cables. After a couple of years I got board and went to work for Bell Canada (Bell Mobility) I worked there for a few years. I was bored there so I left and spent a couple of years at Microsoft. After that I went to work for a company called Siemens Canada.
Finally I decided that I didn't want to work for anyone else. So I took the knowledge I had obtained over the years and started my own company.
It's a wireless communications company. Meaning anything that can be transferred through the air, (internet, television signals, images). My company installs all the equipment needed.
In minimum-security prisons, I'm sure they do. Beyond that, I don't know. I assume most prisoners have some sort of internetz access.
That's possible for the states, that I can't argue. But in Canadian one of our most famous criminals Paul Bernardo has access to the internet on a daily basis.
