The articles talks about all our forwards, and what they think we need. Not a bad article.

Good article from Scott Cullen. It really displays how close this team is to be competitive. We definitely need a top line winger and of course the puck-moving defencemen that JM desires. If we could pick up a Rolston or Demitra plus maybe John-Michel Liles then I believe the team would be playoff bound.

Nice to see a very accurate review of the Panthers by a major sports outlet. I think he pretty much got the needs and game plan down.

But for all of the injuries last season, the Panthers probably would have made the playoffs last season and lost in the first round. They have some talent, but nowhere near enough to go deep into the playoffs let alone seriously contend for the cup.

The Panthers are very solid in goal with Vokoun and Anderson. They need a top 2defender, but only IF Bo signs, IF Van Ryn recovers fully from injury, IF Welch both recovers from injury and plays to his potential and IF Cullimore resigns. On offense, Ollie is good as gone so the Panthers will need to acquire by trade or through free agency, at least, 2 first line players to go with Zednick, which seems unlikely. The team is set at its second line (Booth Weiss, Horton), ok to solid in its 3rd line (Rusty O, McClean, Kilgar/Peltonen) and solid at the 4th line with (Devorak,Krepps, Belak). It probably lets Campbell ad Montador go and trades Stumpel.

Rolston is older, but still has alot to add. For the right price I'd be for Rolston. Demitra is clearly on the decline I'd rather have no part of him. Liles would be a decent move.

How is Anderson an 87, and Vokoun a 77???? My God, is Anderson overrated around the league or what? Maybe we should trade him for Heatley while we have the chance.

I agree with you there. I was reading over on the blues forum and they wanted no part of him either. I would love to see Liles in Florida. I think he would be a great fit to this team.

I don't follow the Panthers very closely, but doesn't Murphy fill basically the same role Liles would?

Maybe we can fool them into giving us Spezza instead!

Murphy can't be as physical as Liles because of his size. Our first priority JM needs to focus on is to get another top line winger and then look at adding a defenseman if needed.

Murphy should be a PP specialist only. His defensive play is sub-par to say the least.
