A two handed full swing of a hockey stick on someone with intent to hurt is nothing for you?

I'll tell you what: something close to that would ever happen to me while playing and i will "overeact" like you said and the guy will need an ambulance.

Two hander, looking right at the goal... coming over the net after the final whistle... is a big difference from what osgood did.... Osgood's might have been accidental... Ribeiro's no way.

Back when he was in the Q, Ribeiro was know for his slashes right above the gloves.

And he was also doing without getting called, ever.

But if you TOUCHED him, you were.

What about the high stick from Osgood into the head of Ribeiro? A slash in the chest is an intent to injure when a player has more ****ing padding that the Michelin man. They are designed to take 100+ mph slapshots for god sakes......I give Osgood a 10 for the Triple Linding.

It was barely anything from either side (Osgood or Ribeiro).

I agree 100%. He gave Osgood a little slash to the chest which is PADDED A TON, and Osgood (ironically) pulls a Ribeiro. A+ to Osgood trying to earn an Oscar.

Like I said, if Ribiero HAD been hit "in the face/head" he'd STILL be on the effing ice rolling around like the fairy he is. Hell, he'd probably do a post game interview in the fetal position if he'd really gotten hit by Osgood.

How the hell can you really think Ribiero would shrug off a hit to the face to retaliate? He's a coward wimp, he would have tried to roll his way to getting Osgood suspended if he'd been hit up high.

Emery got nothing for slashing Lapierre in the face intentionnally from up close and everybody on the main board (besides Habs fans) agreed it was the correct call. Now Ribeiro barely hit Osgood on the shoulder pad and he should get suspended? I don't understand.

He hit him in the chest for crying out loud. I'd be surprised if Osgood even felt that. As Jim Hughson said, he probably gets pucks that sting more than that.

No coincidence that the first two letters in Osgood are also the first two letters in Oscars.

I doubt there will be any suspension. Penalty for sure but I don't think it merits a suspension.

And for the record I'd rather have Ribiero slash me on the chest any day of the week over Pronger stepping on me. Those 2 incidents are not comparable to me at all.

A provoked love tap followed by Osgood hitting the ice a la Ribs 2004. There won't be any suspensions.

I make no bones about despising Ribeiro. I've posted my contempt for him numerous times over the years. But I'm not a Bruins fan and I haven't lost my sanity the way some psychopaths on the Boston board express themselves about the Canadiens. What Ribeiro did was very bad but he was maliciously and unnecessarily provoked by Osgood at the end of the game. A butt end in the face is more reckless than a slash to a well-padded chest. Not only that, but Osgood's foul was premeditated, whereas Ribeiro's retaliation was instinctive. I'll bet that a lot of fans who are calling for Ribeiro to be suspended would probably have done the same thing if Osgood had done it to them. If there are suspensions, both should get them.

I saw the video replay several times. Osgood buttended Ribeiro just after Ribeiro passed him. Ribeiro was already behind the net when he hit Osgood, who, by the way, was facing him. He must have known that Ribeiro would try to get even.
