Suprised but not surprised at the same time. He built a good team but I guess not good enough to get to the next level in the playoffs.

Hmmmm

A bit of an oxymoron. The sharks never really showed a killer instinct

Not really surprised... He was under a tremendous amount of pressure to win it all this year... His team failed and he was held accountable...

DOUG Wilson built the good team, RON is the one who was not good enough to lead them further

Hmmm....I heard through the grapevine that Toronto needs a coach.

I think after last year the writing was on the wall for him. With the addition of Campbell, I think SJ management thought they had enough to go all the way.

Yep, Lombardi did a great job drafting a lot of their star players. Wilson has made some great trades for them (Thornton deal) and for us (Pacioretty and Gorges)

I hope this doesn't happen with Carbo... lots and lots of regular season success and playoff second-round exits... I wouldn't be able to handle it.

I don't mean this season. I mean I hope the second round doesn't become our ceiling over the next few years.

Claude Julien deserved to be nominated for the award this year, and was fired by the Habs two years ago.

The Florida Marlins fired their manager, Joe Girardi, and he won manager of the year in the NL that year.

When ownership/GM clashes with the coach, anything can happen. Unlikely, especially in this circumstance, but not out of the question.

Seems that André Savard wants to go back to a GM job. So....Leafs might see André Savard as GM, Ron Wilson as coach?

Would actually give them some credibility.

Hard to win when you have Thornton, Marleau and Rivet on your team in key positions (all Canadians btw).

I'd be really surprised if he loved the Habs while he was a Nords.
