OT: Metal Fans - Arch Enemy/Dark Tranquility Show Tonight

Firewind were ok - sound better on album
Divine Heresy were loud and heavy as hell - their new singer wasn't bad
Dark Tranquility are awesome but one guitar was WAY too low in the mix and it showed
Arch Enemy were awesome - so damn tight and the leads sounded great

I bought an Arch Enemy t-shirt .

The End.

Would kill to see Dark Tranquility live, they play a lot of songs in B now, which explains why the mix was low, just takes some getting used to.

Not a big Arch Enemy fan, just never got into them, but I hear they put on an intense show.

And Markov79fan you have to do yourself a favor and pick up some Dark Tranquility albums, start with Character, Damage Done and The Gallery, you won't be disappointed.

Dark Tranquility is my favorite Swedish band and really wanted to go but couldn't due to my job.

However i saw Megadeth , In Flames and COB 2 weeks ago so it sort of compensate

Sorry but EPIC FAIL!!!

lol just kidding, but IMO Jester Race and Whoracle outshine any Dark Tranquility albums, while I love DT I find In Flames are one of those few bands that evolve their sound every record, not one of their releases sound the same. Can't say the same for Dark Tranquility.(Although still one of my favorite bands.).

My favorite part was booing the guy wearing the Flyers jersey, then Dave Muistane giving him a hard time!

I'm a big In Flames fan as well (moreso 90's In Flames) but I'd have to say that both bands' last 2-3 albums haven't evolved their sound all that much. Every DT record up until Damage Done sounded different, same goes for IF up until Reroute to Remain (love it or hate it, it was different).

DT and In Flames had the same singers

Anders Fridén (now In Flames' vocalist) was Dark Tranquility's vocalist at their beginning.

Mikael Stanne (first In Flames' Vocalist) is now the Dark Tranquility's vocal man.

Hammerfall and In Flames are mixed too.

Jesper Strömblad (now In Flames' guitarist) was the drummer in Hammerfall at their beginning.

Old Arch Enemy is actually very good and their latest record Rise of the Tyrant is a return to form.

DT just kills though, pretty much all their albums are very good. In Flames' sound has evolved more, yes, but it's evolved to a really **** sound and is barely even metal, let alone death metal. And I still prefer DT's best to In Flames' best.

Ew, Killswitch is terrible.

I should have went to this show, but I totally forgot about it. I'm planning to see Opeth later this month, and the Maiden and At The Gates show are also on my list.

Seen them twice already on much better bills. The supporting cast for tonight's show is weak, which is why I'm sitting home in my underwear watching hockey.

Mikael Stanne was never really the official vocalist for In Flames, he recorded the vocals to "Lunar Strain" as a favor to the band, I'm not sure if he ever played a show with them.

He was their vocalist for the album "Lunar Strain" in 1994.
