Beer, It Does a Body Good

Since we're over-running other threads with the need to talk about the joys of sudsy beverages... time for its own thread.

Buffalo is a drinking town with a hockey problem.

Well, I suppose that goes for most of WNY

I had Rolling Rock on tap last night. It was good.

I'm German. We have more than 1300 breweries... I can definitely confirm that beer is good for your body.

You will have to include Indiana in that then!
I think tonight I will be hanging with the Captain, Colts party at 8:00 PM!

On the beer topic, lately when I hit different pubs for dinner and what not, I try to order a beer that I have never had before.

I have recently tried for the first time, Bass, Killians, a few different Micro-brews and most recently Scrimshaw.

Bass has some very good seasonals, and for a pilsner, I really enjoyed Scrimshaw.

For a macro it's spectacular. Those living in Buffalo who have never had it on the hoser side of the border, it comes highly recommended.

Killian's is an excellent Rochester beer. Probably the best local one.

For local NY beer, I'm a big fan of Aviator Red. And really all of the Adirondack lineup.

I wasn't all that thrilled with Killian's to be honest, but glad that I tried it.

Another beer I have yet to try is Guinness. Blasphemey, I know...

Well, I suppose "for it's price" would be a reasonable disclaimer .

I'd much rather have it than something like Rolling Rock or Bud Light or what have you.

Rolling Rock is a beer that I havent had in a long time. Probly since I left WNY, 10 years ago or so.
I drink a lot of Red Stripe out here, seems to be a popular beer for specials.

Keith's is pretty 'meh' in my books. Right now I have Sleeman Original Draught in my fridge, I find that to be tasty.

Call me old fashion, but I enjoy myself a Genesee Cream Ale from time to time.

Call me boring, but I have a fridge full of Labatt and Molson. Considering I live in Philadelphia, that's quite an achievement.

Mike M is correct. I usually buy a case whenever I drive home. I am down to 3. It is very sad.

and for those of us lazy beer drinkers in WNY / Niagara you can go to Twinlo Beverage and you don't even have to get out of your car, they bring the beer right to you, and even take the empties. Nice people too.

The owner there is a real beer guy and he has been taking me through a glutinous tour of fermated libation land. I used to only drink guinness, but I have come to appreciate a lot of micro brews and a variety of beer types. Having some Stella Arois at the moment.

I know when I was studying in Toronto Alexander Keith's was very popular. Guess I should have tried one.
