For every day that goes by Lou is looking smaller and smaller in my eyes.... Like I said, I still trust the man..but not as much as I used to. Letting a guy like Tulupov get away certainly wouldn't help his case either...
Tulupov has a long long long way to go in order to be an NHL quality defensmen. He needs to learn to play the position, running around trying to kill everyone is fine in the Q. In the AHL he would be a -50.

Having a long way to go doesn't mean he's not one of our best prospects. I never said he was close to the NHL, I'm just saying that there's too much promise in him that we just can't let him go.

A right handed, punishing, 6'3 and 220 Ibs defenseman...it's not like we have an abundance of them, they don't grow on trees. The Devils simply have to find a way to get this guy signed, that's the bottom line.

It would really suck if we loose Tulupov.

If he goes back into the draft, somebody will use a pick on him. That somebody will have made a good pick too.

Im with you DS, this doesnt look good at all.

As a Tigers' die-hard fan I know Tulupov inside out as the palm of my hand.Besides being a nasty intimidating force on the ice it's not what I like in him most.He is a very skillful player. It's like him-pick up the puck in the neutral zone, enter the enemy terrain, shake off a couple of opponent players from his shoulders and give a smooth pass like in this video:

As for his possible -50 in the AHL let me remind you that before joining Q Tulupov played in Neftianick Leninogorsk team. It's Russia-2.Exactly the AHL replica. His performance was more than encouraging there and his former U-18 coach Fedor Kanareikin (last year RSL champion with Metallurg Magnitogorsk)was very much upset when Kirill declined his offer in favor of NA.As was said before "Such players don't grow on trees"

This board loves Corrente and agreed he's a good prospect in the intimidating, 2 pairing category. But honestly from what I've seen from Tulupov, I think his skill upside is much higher than Corrente's. I really think that Lou would eventually rue the day he let him go. Not saying superstar, but a solid NHL D-man. And no, he's not Vish 2.0

With the CBA being what it is. NHL teams (including NJ) have to get most of there draft picks in the system with the hopes of getting at least some into the N. If 2 or 3 prospects for from 1 draft slip through the cracks it could mean trouble down the line.

Another goal and an assist for Halischuk. Kitchener is putting the boots to Belleville. But they haven't held leads the entire tournament.

Memorial Cup update, Semi-Final tonight Kitchener (not to be mentioned nickname) vs Belleville Bulls: In the first and it's 4-0 Kitchener. Halischuk has a goal and an assist so far in the game.

Couldn't have been said any better. If the Devils were a little deeper with prospects, it wouldn't be the end of the world to lose a guy like Tulupov, but with only average depth at best on the blueline in the system, letting a guy like Tulupov go would be a mistake.

LOL, the little guy did a between period interview. He's a Gomez clone, just not as goofy. Maybe we should pick him up, and get players that kinda look like the players we've lost.

Garbage goal for Halischuk. I'm interested in seeing this guy play with different players. Maybe in September.

In their captain's defense, he didn't drop it, he was just holding it and the cup broke off of the base.

maybe we could sign halischuk and azevedo. if we got them to the ahl we could see if they could translate their chemistry to a bigger stage. also, im sure the development would be more comfortable for both of them being on the same team, and if that, probably on the same line.

Hopefully Halischuk gets signed so he can play in Lowell next year. I expect that is why Lou has been up in Kitchener lately.

3 rookies on the number 1 line will hurt for Lowell. Maybe second or 3rd.

What do you expect the line-up to look like?

Its hard to say, I think Swift and Halischuk will play together, Swift plays a lot like Azevedo. Then maybe a veteran like Tallackson on the left side. To create space and stand in front.

Exactly 3 days 5 hours 29 minutes and 5 seconds left to re-sign Tulupov.
