Saw Nick Palmieri play for the first time since the trade from Erie to Belleville.

He is really excelling since the trade from Erie and is averaging a point per game for the first time in his OHL career. He was outstanding last night, the best player on the ice for either team. Strength wise, and in the corners, he was a man among boys. I can't remember one time where he didn't come out from a battle in the corner with the puck on his stick. The most impressive thing about his game is how good a skater he is for a big man. When he gets going, there is almost no stopping him from getting to the net, at least at this level. In Erie, I never saw him use his size to his advantage as much as he did last night, which has to be very promising to the Devils. His great play ended up paying off as he scored the eventual game winner on the powerplay off a nice one timer set up by Stephen Silas.

I don't think Palmieri matches up well with Lucic. He's more of a skill guy that can beat you one on one where Lucic can beat you by knocking you the **** over.

Lucic is truly one of a kind. He's so strong on the puck, it's ridiculous. He is the exact opposite of Brian Rafalski, you cannot knock this dude off the puck.

Yeah you're right. I'd have to agree with HF above me that Cormier fits that style.

Up at UNH they obviously love the Bruins, so I've seen plenty of Lucic this season and I have to say, if Cormier ends up like him I will be more than thrilled.

If he continues to make the Canadian WJC team he could be captain material by the time he's 20.

Just watched Palmieri's game winner vs. Ice Dogs last night on U tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wT0dp...om/blog/?p=246

absolute rocket on the one timer

Belleville looks like a great team to watch - a lot of talent

Henrique with his fourth straight multi-point performance. 10 points in 4 games.

Go kid, go. Is he getting extra ice time because the top-line forwards on Windsor are at the WJC?

Needless to say, I wasn't overly thrilled with the Devils being ranked dead last, and fought for a bump up from that dubious spot. All I can really say is, I think this will be the first and only time the Devils are ranked this low.

It doesn't bother us, Jared. All of us, including yourself, know full well that we have a fairly solid prospect base that could turn out a few solid NHL players.

It just makes the site look a bit off the pace. We could easily, and realistically, have been ranked last a year, or two years, ago. Now the prospect base is much improved the team winds up ranked 30th.

Maybe all the other weak organisations also improved, even moreso, I don't follow any other team's prospects very closely, but it seems unlikely. I think it's more likely that our paucity of resources from a year or so back has slowly dawned on the HF decision makers and they've tried to jump on the bandwagon just as it's pulled away.

Good stuff. He rarely, if ever, did that in Erie. Hopefully he'll keep it up and then play well when he goes to Lowell next year.

All I know is Palmieri shouldn't be the only one happy that he is out of that disaster in Erie - Devils Fans should be thrilled as well. I think being with Belleville will accelerate Nick's development

Palmieri reminds me alot of Steve Bernier.

I would be very happy if he could become like him and i think he has the capability of doing so.
