OT: Russian team signs Chris Simon

As per TSN: Chris Simon was signed today by Vityaz Chekhov of the Continental Hockey League in Russia.

Not big in terms of hockey news. But I just wanted to give us something else to talk about.

I'm sad Simon wont be in the NHL next year.

But the NHL must be happy in their goal of seeing a fightless and sissy hockey league take place in North America.

Thank god this neandertal is gone. He had a nice carrer but it went down the drain in the last few years. The odds he takes out someone on a stretcher with a cheap hit are very good, gotta feel the pressure to be a goon.

Hey at least he didn't go after star players, which is more than we can say about others.

I m a bit surprised, I didnt tought Simon would be the type of guy to go to Russia, looks like he dint have many choices here, or that the offer was too interesting, which I somehow doubt, hopefully he ll have some fun there

Don't worry, I had to look twice to make sure I was reading the article properly.

They didn't exactly bag prize game... They said they had been negotiating with Simon for a month and a half. Although attracting NHL free agents to the KHL is a hard sell, they have quite a head start over the 29 other NHL teams.

I thought Simon would at least try to join Theo Fleury in Scotland or England, or wherever/whatever league he's playing in!!
