Rumour: Jokinen/Kozlov to Flyers?

From Darren D. of Rogers Sportsnet.

He was on the Fan 590 and says with the injuries to JR and Keith, Bobby Clarke is working to phones and may be interested in either of them.

It's legit.

I don't think so. Keith is most likely going to play on Sat & JR is only going to miss 3 to 4 weeks.

JR may be out for 6 weeks apparentely.

They're wiring his jaw shut.

And they say Primeau may have suffered a concussion.

While Clarkie has been known to pull bonehead desperation deals, I don't think the Panthers are going to deal their only 2 consistent offensive threats. Those guys are blocks to build around for the future, not trade fodder.

Prims is supposed to only miss a game.
JR had the same injury before and missed 3+weeks.
Were would they go once guys are healthy?
Seems unlikely.

The last time JR broke his jaw he missed 3 weeks. All the reports I have heard this morrning have had his recovery time around the same, maybe a week longer

If this was your average player, yes. JR probaly would play the same day he went in for surgery if they would let him.

On Primeau, it sounds like he may only miss a game or so.

Cool.

Hopefully KP is back and hasn't suffered a concussion.

Could be gone for the rest of the regular season actually.

From Ken H himself....

Quote:
``He will miss significant time,'' coach Ken Hitchcock said after Friday's practice. ``I don't think anyone knows the exact time. It'll certainly be a lot longer than two to three weeks. We'll see how he feels in the next week or so.''

Nope. Jokinen is the best player on the Panthers. If you add him with Kozlov it won't be cheap.

If the leafs were dealing for Eric Brewer I would expect Pilar and Colaiacovo to wave bye bye.

JR is an absolute warrior, he will be back for the playoffs at least. This team is deep enough that they can still win with Handzus, Sharp, Primeau, and Lapointe at center and Gagne might move back to C. Man, as soon as this Gagne-JR-Amonte line starts to get going, look who goes down.

It's legit.
So the Flyers would have an nice NHL team (on paper), and no farm - again. This team is not the Rangers

ditto ditto exactamundo. you have taken the words right out of my mouth. This would be a trade where i would just swear for an hour or so, have a temper tantrum and find another team.

It sounds like a hefty price, but I don't think it's that unreasonable. Jokinen has a better upside than Carter or Richards, he's still young, a year older than Gagne. And Kozlov is a pretty decent player too. The likelihood of such a trade is minimal, but valuewise, it's not that far off.

Since this is all conjecture let me add my 2 cents.

Jokinen was underachieving until Keenan and may not have stayed in Fla. if not for him, as I understand it, so this upside you speak of is pure conjecture.

Kozlov, while having nice hands and some dazzling moves takes games off in huge chunks, from what I've seen.

That said they are as unproven as Carter or Richards and can't be depended on to come in late in the season and make an impact.
