Curds are a must for my poutine, and I use a mushroom gravy to keep the calories down.

I had poutine on Saturday, and I think they were running low on fries and the guy filled in with extra curds... best poutine I've ever had.

Last time I made it myself, I'm not sure what was worse- the fact that I used mozzarella because I'm too lazy to make the curds from scratch, or the fact that I use frozen Ore-Ida fries. I still have half a bag of those crappy fries in my freezer.

OT - Great Poutine in Montreal

Hey guys,

My friend and I are going to Montreal on the 18th for the UFC fight. We are huge poutine fans and we were thinking of having a poutine tasting day.

Anybody have any suggestions of places in Montreal that have fantastic poutine?

I know what this thread needs..... more McPhee, Chezz, IceCold, Artie, and Fido. And a couple of Canes posters like DaveG, CF, and CG12 too.

I have lived in Montreal for 7 years now and have never once been to La Banquise.
So my uninformed favourite is the Belle Province version.

The only thing anyone needs to worry about is the brain aneurysm you get from eating something too good to handle. That could kill you. True story.
