Wolves face Baby Pens in Calder Cup Finals

Pavelec is having a great playoff run for the Wovles this year.

"Great" doesn't begin to describe Pavelec's play. More like, "unbelieveable" or "spectacular." The kid has singlehandedly kept the Wolves in a lot of games, especially those first two rounds against Milwaukee and Rockford.

Shame that the Pittsburgh organization is going to lose 2 finals this year.

Kulda with one assist in the first game and two assists in the second game of the finals. It is pretty impressive that he has made the team full time and is used in various situations, including the PP.

For a defenseman just called up from junior, it is very impressive.

6 points in 18 playoff games for a young defenseman not yet 20 years old. Wow.

I hope Bogo or what other top defensive prospect we get shows that kind of progression so that the Thrash may finally win some games along the blueline in a year or two.

If Nikulin does come over, I could see Kulda having to wait another year to be with the Thrashers. I can't see them adding Valabik, Nikulin, and Kulda all in the same season. That would be a very young defense corps. With that said, I am impressed with what Kulda is doing and think that he is going to end up a steal for the franchise. I watched the game yesterday and he looked pretty good. If you want to watch them, the Calder Cup games are on the NHL Network. Got to see the first 2. Yesterday's game was very physical and had a lot of questionable hits and got chippy several times.

I think that in particular with the number of D-men already under contract next year, it would be best for all concerned if Kulda spent next season in Chicago.
