OT: RIP Luc Bourdon

Quote:
Vancouver Canucks defenceman Luc Bourdon was killed in a motorcycle accident in northern New Brunswick on Thursday. He was 21.

Bourdon, a promising young defenceman who played his junior hockey with the Moncton Wildcats, Cape Breton Screaming Eagles and Val d'Or Foreurs of the QMJHL, split his first pro season in 2007-08 between Vancouver and the American Hockey League's Manitoba Moose.

He scored two goals and was a plus-7 in 27 games with the Canucks last season.

As a fanbase that's gone through this kind of thing before, I thought this would be good to post here.

Luc Bourdon was my favorite player on all of those Canadian World Jr. teams that he helped to gold. He wasn't afraid to hit, and he was also solid defensively. The city of Vancouver loved him. He'll be missed. My greatest sympathies go out to his family.

RIP Luc Bourdon

Yes, that is very sad. As a fan of hockey and as a fellow human it touches us all.

I remember Darryl Kyle and Josh Hancock from the St. Louis Cardinals who died just as suddenly.

Prayers go out to the family and friends.

Terrible, terrible loss... I remember the empty feeling the morning I woke up and heard about Dany and Dan. Another highly unfortunate reason to think twice before you jump on a bike.

My wife is an x-ray tech in Marietta - she has seen many, many people who got into accidents on motorcycles. They wouldn't be so bad if everybody rode bikes and had tons of experience.
