Gainey has contacted Corson

here is the link in French
http://www.chfans.com/in_comments.php?t=2452

He could be an interesting addition if he comes dirt cheap. He's a leader and had good chemistry with Koivu, adds toughness.. but has an attitude and is old. He's the type of player that BG brang over in Dallas, nearing playoffs time ['cept for the attitude]

I know mostly everybody hates him but noone can argue his playoff capabilities if he plays at his best. He is EXACTLY the type of playoff warrior that any team wants to have at this time of the year. Now as far as him being a "cancer" in the room? Well, I really don't know but Im sure BG is the type of person who can get him under control.

No thanks
there's no room for him.
Begin is already better than Corson in every aspect of the game

He could be the Doug Gilmour we had 2 years ago. I would be glad to see him take the place of Dagenais for the remainder of the season.

Tempting...

I hope you guys realize that this is not my idea, it just happened to come across, that's why I posted it here. I used to like Corson when he was playing for the Habs, however I think he is NOT what the HABS need now.

remember Randy MacKay ? I don't want to see Corson eat Ward or Sundstrom ice time , both are younger and more valuable .

Well, maybe we need someone like him that can bring some leadership in the last stretch of the season. The way we've been choking in the past two game might be saying something about the lack of character in the team?

I don't think we have to worry much right now about what's happening but eventually, maybe Corson could be useful if he comes up cheap..

I like Begin as much as the next guy but you can't deny the fact that he does take stupid penalties. He needs to play with more discipline.

Are you kidding me....Begin is no more then a perfect 4th line Centre. Corson IF healthy would be the perfect third line Centre for Montreal and would be a great addition to the power play, he would position himself in front of that net and pick up some huge goals not to mention screening the goalie and making life difficult for opposing defenceman. I for one like the Idea of a HEALTHY Corson.

I don't know if Corson can hack it anymore, but it would be fun to have him in the lineup if he can. If we make the playoffs, there is a high probability we'll play the Flyers or the Leafs and he would sure come in handy against Sundin and them tough Flyers centers.

Third line Ward Corson and Sundstrom....is much better then having Juneau or Dackel and allows Montreal to play Begin on the fourth line where he belongs.

Corson would be good for the playoffs if we were playing the Leafs in the first round. That would be something. But otherwise, I'm not sure that he fits into the system that we have going.
