Proposal --- Habs and Blue Jackets

Although this may ruffle a few feathers, what the hell it`s Tuesday night

The Blue Jackets trade their 1st which is 6th overall and a 4th or 5th rounder

The Habs Trade their 1st which is 25th, Chipper and Dandy

The Habs draft Nikita Filatov

Why

Cause although the Blue Jacket are looking for a number 1 centre not much out there. So by getting Chipper they have a 1st rounder that is NHL ready and he can immediately step into the 3rd line centre position and therefore no more need for Mr. Peca and his expensive salary and medical bills.

Dandy obviously doesn`t want to play anymoe for the Habs cause of where he sits on the depth chart...not the case with the Blue Jackets who if they don`t pay big tiome will lose Mr. Hainsey on day 1 of the UFA blitz

The 4th or 5th rounder for the Habs because Timmins & Co do wonders with draft picks

Filatov...cause the Habs can gamble and they will win!!!!!

I'm sorry, but I fail to see how this trade makes us a better team on short-term...

Who would replace Chipchura on our 3rd line next year?

How would Filatov fit into our plans knowing that he's a LW and that we have lots of depth on this wing, especially with top 6 potential players..? ( I think he could be converted to centre, we are talking about a much longer time frame (one junior year and one year in the pros)..)

Why don't you add Nash and Zherdev to even it up while you're at it.

Howson would never do that.

To start with the last thing I would be trading from this team are centermen prospects, a that right now along with goaltending are the two weakest areas in the farm system.

Dandenault may, may land you a 6th or 7th rounder, but even that I feel is doubtful.

I wonder if there would be an interest in the rights to Perezhogin, as it looks like he no longer fits into the teams plan & he had a strong campaign last season the RSL.

Or maybe put some feelers out to see if any teams are interested in maybe Fischer, Weber or maybe even Ryno(Ryan O'Bryne).

In my gut I get this feeling that may Ryno sealed his fate with the team last winter in Florida, especially if they feel there are others ready to step up & play in the NHL.

Exactly. Kyle might very well become a decent two way forward and a good leader but that is not enough to get the 6th overall pick.

Kyle will be a priceless player for us in the future, no way we want to trade him.

Unless there is a last minute deal with the Russian Federation, Filatov will drop much further than 6th, he might be available at 14-15-16 like Cherepanov was.

Gee, I wonder why they wouldn't want to lose 20 spots in the draft for Dandy and Chip

Doubtful. Cherapanov dropped b/c of questions about his attitude. There may be some concern about the transfer agreement but I expect him to go in the top 5.
